Brian Christopher is an award-winning slots player and YouTube star with a community of over 2.1 million subscribers and 55 million monthly video views: you may have come across his BCSlots Youtube channel. Playing slots daily in land-based and online slot sites, Brian is responsible for his own slot games and slots cruises.
In this exclusive Q&A-style interview, Brian discusses how he got into playing slots, how he chooses games to play, how his community has grown, the rise of short-form content and what to expect from his slot cruises and Rudies Weekend.
Q: How did you get into playing slots? Do you remember the first games you played when you started?
BC: “Playing slots has always been a passion for me, ever since I became legal at 19 in Toronto. I used to love Wheel of Fortune, the original Gold Fish, and the Piggy Big Bang game.”
Q: How do you choose what casinos to play at? What do you look for as a slots player and guest?
BC: “My only prerequisite is that the casino is smokefree, or at the very least the smokefree area is accessible from the exterior and I can travers to it (and my hotel room if needed) without having to go through a smoking section. If there is a smoking section, it must be completely closed off by walls and on a different ventilation system.
I'm here to promote fun and entertainment, and I take the health of my staff and fans seriously (I only wish all casinos did too!). So it doesn't matter how big, small or fancy or not a casino is. I would love the opportunity to see it all.”
Q: How do you choose what slot machines to play? Do members of your community recommend them?
BC: “I will always look for brand new games regardless of manufacturer, and whatever my fans dictate. Personally, I'm looking for bright colours with a fun theme and a game full of bonuses and lots of features. I also love old school games, though it doesn't look great on camera.”
Q: Why do you think your community has grown so much? Why do players relate to your content?
BC: “We are the channel people gravitate to when they're looking for authentic play by someone who they can relate to, who shows all their wins and losses and is positive regardless of the outcome.
I also always put my fans first, so when I film I do so with them in mind. It's not my personal play time, it's all about entertaining them. That's why we love to host events almost every week with our community at casinos or at sea.”
Q: With the rise of short-form content, what challenges do you think it poses to online influencers/streamers?
BC: “The time and money that goes into a 1 minute short is not well compensated at all. A million views can garner a hundred bucks if you're lucky, but it may cost you thousands of dollars in spins to film it.
We mainly do them as YouTube and Meta have trained their audience (thanks to TikTok) to watch short form more, which tends to drive traffic to the page and boost subscribers. So the hope is that they'll then come across our long form content which drives the revenue.”
Q: You’ve created co-branded slots in Brian Christopher’s World Cruise and Brian Christopher’s Pop’N Pays More: how did these games come about?
BC: “Gaming Arts came across one of my videos in which I was singing their praises of a few of their games. They asked if I'd be interested in a rebrand of Pop'N Pays and obviously I accepted. I'm super proud to be the first influencer ever featured on their own slot machine that is at land based and cruise based casinos! Our newest game, Brian Christopher’s World Cruise, is at numerous casinos and was recently added to Carnival Celebration.
Q: Are there any plans to create more slot games? And will you delve into the online/digital side of things?
BC: “Funny you should mention...we have a few games in development that should be released in the coming months in the online space, including our very first one on BetMGM! More to come, but we're over the moon excited.”
Q: Can you tell me about Brian Christopher Slots Cruises? They seem like so much fun!
BC: “Just so happens that I'm on board a cruise entertaining around 600 players over 2 weeks on Carnival Mardi Gras right now. They are an absolute blast, and our fans keep coming back for more. I host numerous parties, a slot tournament, group slot pull and hang out with them daily in the casino.
It's a great opportunity for us to get to know each other more, and for them it's a chance to play with their celebrity friend in the casino! Q: How does the online slots world differ from the land-based world?
BC: “To me, it's the exact same. Only one of them can be done on a toilet, haha. Nothing will ever replace the real life casino, but if you're looking to make a profit, the payouts are much higher on BetMGM for example.

Q: Are there any new slot games online you love playing?
BC: “I have been on the road the past 2 months, so I'm not fully up to date on the newest games, but I am so looking forward to the new Family Feud game. For physical slots, on this cruise actually, Bluberi just released a few new games that I'm loving; Cash Raccoons, Devil's Lock Slice N' Dice and Shoot for the Loot. I had a chance to try them out at ICE in Barcelona at their booth, so I was super excited to see them on board. The fans are loving them too.”
Q: Finally, what is your favourite slot game of all time and why?
BC: “That is an impossible question to answer, so I'll give you a small variety. Classic: Cleopatra and Top Dollar. Feel Good Slots: Quick Hit Link and Crazy Chickens (excited to try their new game coming out). New Games: Spooky Link and Mariachi Fortunes Trio. Though they change all the time.”
