I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Aberdeen (Evens) is now favourite to record snow on Christmas Day 2025.
  • William Hill has priced up UK airports with Met Office data determining official results.
  • Other short-priced cities include Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Newcastle, while southern cities drift.

Aberdeen Tops the Betting as White Christmas Hopes Grow

There are now just eight days to go until Christmas and betting sites are ramping up markets on one of the UK’s favourite festive flutters, where will it snow on December 25th?

William Hill have installed Aberdeen Airport as evens (1/1) favourite to see snow fall on Christmas Day.

With wintry weather patterns moving across the north of the UK, Scotland’s chances of a white Christmas appear strongest.

Behind Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow follow closely at 6/4, while northern English cities like Newcastle (7/4) and Liverpool (2/1) round out the early favourites.

The latest market puts many cities at a short price with snow looking increasingly likely of coming on Christmas Day this year.

How Is a “White Christmas” Officially Declared?

To avoid confusion, bookmakers such as William Hill now settle snow markets using Met Office guidance, which requires a single snowflake to be observed falling at a specified airport location on December 25th.

It does not need to lie, settle, or cover the ground, just one flake falling is enough.

This means the actual betting result can be decided regardless of how festive the scenes appear.

Northern airports are typically the shortest-priced in these markets due to historical trends, altitude, and geographical exposure to cold air masses.

London, Paris and Dublin Long Shots as Weather Front Tracks North

As always, southern UK locations are less likely to see snowfall on the big day. London City, Gatwick and Birmingham are all drifting in the betting, while Paris (7/1) and Dublin (5/1) are seen as long shots despite cooler forecasts in mainland Europe.

Much will depend on how cold the next week turns and whether rain-bearing systems coincide with dropping temperatures which is a perfect storm for punters eyeing festive flurries.

What the expert says...
These markets are great fun, but the key is watching short-range forecasts in the final 3-4 days. Aberdeen and Edinburgh are rightly top of the list, but a northern England surprise like Newcastle at 7/4 could offer value.
