The Paddy Power World Darts Championship gets underway on Friday night and bookmakers are offering odds on who will win the event this year with a new contender topping the market.

Luke Humphries has been the in-form player this year and he is 3/1 to win his first ever World Championship this year with tournament sponsors Paddy Power.

Michael van Gerwen is just behind him in the betting market at 7/2 with the 34-year-old looking to win his first World Championship since 2019.

Paddy Power's latest odds suggest a 25% chance of Humphries winning the title with MVG's implied probability of winning based on the odds sitting at 22%.
