Betting odds now offered on the next Plymouth Argyle manager

The Championship managerial merry-go-round is officially underway with a number of departures in the past few weeks now added by Wayne Rooney leaving Plymouth Argyle.

OLBG have now looked at who could be the next Plymouth Argyle manager with former boss Steven Schumacher the evens favourite to make a return to Home Park.

Schumacher left the club last December to take over at Stoke City but he was dismissed from the role after two wins in their opening five games this season.

Now it may well be that he makes a shock return to Plymouth with the Pilgrims looking for a new manager to lead them after Rooney's departure on New Year's Eve.

BetVictor's latest betting market puts Schumacher clear at the top of the odds list at 1/2 to take over Argyle once again with a 66% implied probability given.

Wayne Rooney leaves Plymouth by mutual agreement

Plymouth officially announced the departure of Wayne Rooney on Tuesday morning after just four league wins in 23 Championship games saw the Greens sit at the bottom of the table.

Rooney took over at Plymouth in May and questions have been asked of his appointment in recent weeks, with the final match in his reign seeing his side booed off after a 2-0 defeat to Oxford United.

Plymouth's season so far has seen them score the joint fewest goals in the Championship and concede the most goals across the top four divisions in England and that will need to change with the next manager.
