Cifuentes Sacked as Leicester Search for Next Manager
Leicester City have parted ways with manager Marti Cifuentes after a dismal run of form left the club languishing in the bottom half of the Championship, just six months after he took over.
Cifuentes, 43, was appointed in July with the clear goal of restoring the Foxes to the Premier League.
But Saturday’s 2-1 home loss to struggling Oxford United marked his 11th defeat in 29 league games and proved one too many for the club’s hierarchy.
Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said the decision had not been taken lightly, thanking Cifuentes for his dedication, but with promotion slipping away, Leicester now find themselves in yet another managerial search.
BetVictor now give odds on the next Leicester manager with caretaker manager Andy Cook leading the way in the betting odds.

Who Are the Leading Candidates?
Andy King (2/1)
The former Leicester midfielder and club icon is the early favourite to take over permanently as he becomes caretaker manager.
Having spent well over a decade at the club in his playing career, King is seen as a steadying figure with dressing room influence and fan backing.
He has a strong relationship with the club hierarchy, making him an attractive short-term solution.
Russell Martin (4/1)
Martin has Championship experience and a clear playing philosophy.
With Swansea and MK Dons on his CV, Martin has shown he can rebuild sides on a budget, but his teams often take time to adapt to his possession-heavy style.
Martin's latest job saw him fail at Rangers but he may well be ready to jump back into management here.
Foxes in Danger of Losing Touch With the Top Six
Sitting 14th with 17 games to go, Leicester are currently six points off the play-off places, but more alarmingly, their form has nosedived in recent weeks.
With just two wins in their last nine, a season that began with promotion ambitions is quickly turning into mid-table obscurity.
The next manager must spark a turnaround quickly or face the very real prospect of another season in the Championship.
