Andy Burnham is the 4/1 betting favourite to take over as Labour Leader next
Andy Burnham remains the bookies favourite to be the next Labour Leader at 4/1 to take over from Keir Starmer next.
Starmer currently shows no sign of leaving his position as head of the Labour Party anytime soon with the next General Election not expected until 2024.
Paddy Power make Burnham the favourite to replace Starmer eventually but only give him a 20% chance of doing so.
Next Labour Leader | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Andy Burnham | 4/1 | 20.0% |
Lisa Nandy | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Wes Streeting | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Rachel Reeves | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Angela Rayner | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Lisa Nandy and Wes Streeting are just behind Burnham in what is a tight betting market.
Burnham has previously ran twice for the big role and failed both times so he may not try for a third time.
Lisa Nandy is into joint second favourite at 6/1 coming in slightly from her previous odds
Current Shadow Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Lisa Nandy is 6/1 to be the next Labour leader.
Nandy has been the MP for Wigan since 2010 and spoke at the Labour conference earlier this week around social housing.
In her role as Secretary of State for Housing and Communities, Nandy said that Labour have plans to restore social housing as the second largest tenure.
Nandy's odds on being the next Labour leader have come in slightly to 6/1 from the 7/1 she was back in July.
Bookies give specials on how long Liz Truss will be Prime Minister

Previous PM Boris Johnson spent just over 3 years in charge and Truss will want to outstay that.
