Cavill Becomes Frontrunner in Race to Be the Next James Bond

The race to become the next James Bond has taken another twist this week, with Henry Cavill now leading the betting market at 2/1 with William Hill.

Cavill has long been considered a strong contender for the role, and this recent odds shift suggests bookmakers and punters believe his time may finally be near.

Known for his roles in The Witcher and Man of Steel, Cavill’s blend of action credentials and British charm fits the traditional Bond mould.

His odds shorten comes amid renewed speculation that Amazon MGM Studios are nearing a decision, with producers reportedly looking for a recognisable but long-term leading man.

UK Betting Sites have been changing the markets around on a weekly basis with new favourites topping the betting frequently.

What the expert says...
Henry Cavill has been a popular Bond pick for years but this is the first time we’ve seen him lead the market in a while. The timing of this price move is interesting. If he does get the nod, it would be a crowd-pleasing but traditional choice.

Former Favourite Theo James Still in the Picture

Theo James (5/2) continues to be a major contender, with consistent backing thanks to his suave on-screen persona and breakout roles in The White Lotus and Time Traveller’s Wife.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (5/1) hasn’t been ruled out either and he reportedly completed a screen test with producers in 2023.

Further down, Jack Lowden (6/1), Harris Dickinson (7/1) and James Norton (7/1) remain firmly in the running, all offering a younger take on 007 and solid stage and screen credentials.
