Danny Cowley is currently the favourite to take over at his former club Lincoln Town with a number of clubs linked with the manager next.
A return to Lincoln could be off the cards though if Cowley is sought after by Grimsby with the Mariners looking for a new man to take over after Paul Hurst was sacked.
BetVictor's early betting market has three joint favourites at 6/1 including Graham Alexander, who was sacked by MK Dons earlier this month.
What the expert says...
Danny Cowley is the early favourite to be the next Grimsby manager with bookmakers having full odds up over who will replace the departing Paul Hurst next! The latest odds suggest a 16% chance that he will take over the Mariners.
Paul Hurst was sacked by Grimsby on Saturday after another defeat
Grimsby's 1-0 defeat to Doncaster on Saturday signalled the end of Paul Hurst's second reign in charge of the club as the Mariners slipped down to 21st in the table.
Hurst was in his second spell at Blundell Park after coming back in 2020 while they were in the National League and he helped them to promotion via the play-offs during his time.
Chairman Jason Stockwood announced that the club had been looking at data and the general performance in the last 6 weeks to come to the decision to dismiss Hurst.

Grimsby now 15/2 to be relegated from League Two this season
Betting is also available on the League Two relegation fight this year with Grimsby's odds shortening to 15/2 after that defeat to Doncaster on Saturday.
Those odds now make them the 6th favourites to be relegated this season with Tranmere currently odds-on at 10/11 to go down to the National League.
The current League Two table sees Sutton United bottom with Tranmere on equal points with 10 gained so far this campaign.
Forest Green and Grimsby Town wrap up the bottom four in League Two with just two sides going down at the end of the season.
