Ryan Lowe is now the evens favourite to be the next Blackpool manager

Betting is now available on the next Blackpool manager following the sacking of Neil Critchley and there's a massive name who sits as the evens favourite in the betting market.

Former Preston manager Ryan Lowe is evens with betting sites to take over at rivals Blackpool after he left North End following the first game of the season where they lost 2-0 to Sheffield United.

Lowe moving to Blackpool would be a big shock with the rivalry in the West Lancashire derby massive but the managerial position at the Tangerines could be appealing to Lowe who wouldn't need to move too far away, if at all.

BetVictor instantly placed Lowe as the favourite in the odds list at evens, with those odds suggesting a 50% chance of him ending any ties at Preston by taking over at their fierce rivals.

Blackpool sacked Neil Critchley after back-to-back defeats

Wednesday morning saw Blackpool announced that they had sacked their head coach Neil Critchley after back-to-back defeats at the start of their League One season.

Critchley was in charge of Blackpool for a second spell after previously guiding them to promotion to the Championship two years prior, but that same level of success hadn't been met this time around.

"Despite his best efforts over the past 12 months, there have been a number of disappointing results and performances which means that a change is needed to give the club every possible chance of competing at the top end of the division this season," said Blackpool owner Simon Sadler.

The Tangerines are now 8/1 to be relegated this season

Latest betting odds offered on who will be relegated in League One this season sees Blackpool shorten into 8/1 after their opening two defeats.

The Tangerines sit in 23rd in the table ahead of Shrewsbury who are bottom with both sides losing their opening fixtures and having the same -4 goal difference.

Wigan and Cambridge wrap up the bottom four in the table so far this season and the latest betting market puts Blackpool still as an outsider to go down.

Blackpool's odds put them as the 14th favourites in the betting market to be relegated with sides such as Mansfield and Lincoln sitting above them.
