Bookmakers now make Newcastle 6/5 to sign James Maddison this Summer

Newcastle are now 6/5 with bookmakers to sign Leicester's James Maddison after a second bid for the player was reportedly rejected today.

The Toon are eager to sign Maddison as their marquee signing of the summer under their new Saudi revolution.

Unibet make Newcastle the favourite destination if he was to leave Leicester, but staying at the club looks a more probable option.

James Maddison Next Club (by 1st September 2022) Odds Probability
Stay at Leicester 3/5 62.5%
Newcastle 6/5 45.5%
Tottenham 6/1 14.3%
Arsenal 8/1 11.1%

Maddison scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for the Foxes last season and looked to be over his injury woes.

The midfielder will be looking to make a last ditch attempt to make Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad this Winter.

James Maddison is now 6/5 to sign for Newcastle this Summer with the Toon having a second bid rejected for the player. It looks like they may put in a third and final offer in the next week.

Maddison is still odds on to stay at Leicester at 3/5

James Maddison is still 3/5 to stay at Leicester this Summer with bookies giving him a 62.5% chance of staying at the King Power.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers joked at the weekend that the current £40m bid would get "three-quarters of his (Maddison's) left leg".

The Foxes are the only team in the Premier League yet to make a signing this Summer and losing Maddison would be a big blow for them.

According to Rodgers, the club are in a difficult financial situation that has left them unable to sign anyone.
