Evan Ferguson now favourite to join West Ham in the current transfer window

Brighton forward Evan Ferguson is now just 9/4 to join West Ham this January transfer window with reports suggesting that interest is ramping up for the striker in the remaining days of the market being open.

The 20-year-old striker has been injured for large parts of the season and it's unclear if his current ankle injury will be recovered before the window slams shut on February 3.

Despite that though his current club Brighton are reportedly open minded about letting the striker leave on loan for the remainder of the season with Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro performing well.

Bookmakers now put the Hammers as favourites to sign Ferguson this window with their recent £57m bid for Aston Villa's Jhon Duran quickly rejected.

Bournemouth are also one of several clubs who have been linked with signing Ferguson in the current window with five clubs rumoured to be interested in the player.

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola has seen both Evanilson and Enes Ünal ruled out for lengthy periods through injury and this may well mean that they are in the market for a replacement this January.

Reports in the Express say it's between Bournemouth and West Ham for Ferguson's potential destination this month if he was to leave Brighton.

Brighton currently going well in the Premier League

Brighton are one of several clubs who are having great seasons and pushing for European places in the Premier League table this season.

The Albion are currently in 9th place and four points off Man City and Newcastle in 5th and 6th respectively in the table with a big chance that they push on for the Top 6 this season.

Their latest win came away at Old Trafford with a fantastic performance seeing them run out 3-1 winners and they're now 9/2 to finish in the Top 6 places in the Premier League.
