Arne Slot Now Sack Race Favourite After Bournemouth Blow
Liverpool’s Premier League season went from bad to worse on Sunday as they suffered a dramatic stoppage-time defeat at Bournemouth, pushing them out of the top four and manager Arne Slot into pole position in the sack race.
BetVictor have now made the Dutchman a 2/5 favourite to be the next top-flight boss to leave his post, slashing his odds following the Cherries’ last-gasp 2-1 win.
It was Bournemouth’s first win in 15 games, while Liverpool have picked up just four points from their last five.
With the pressure intensifying, speculation is already mounting over potential replacements with Xabi Alonso once again linked to a return to Anfield.

| Thomas Frank | 15/8 | 34.8% |

Slot’s Position in Jeopardy
After succeeding Jurgen Klopp, Slot was given the task of overseeing a transition phase but fans and pundits alike are beginning to question whether the team has progressed this season.
Despite a promising start to their title defence, Liverpool now sit 5th, having been leapfrogged by both Chelsea and Manchester United at the weekend.
The Reds face Qarabag FK on Wednesday night in the Champions League, a match Slot is set to oversee, but it could prove decisive for his tenure.
Should Liverpool fail to qualify automatically for the round of 16 and be forced into a two-legged knockout play-off the calls for change would become deafening.
Alonso Back in the Frame?
Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is once again being touted as the man to steady the ship at Anfield.
Alonso. who won the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen before a short-lived spell at Real Madrid, was previously linked to the job after Klopp’s departure.
Reports suggest senior players at Madrid clashed with Alonso over tactical discipline and off-pitch rules, leading to his early exit.
However, his track record in Germany and deep connection with Liverpool could still make him a compelling option if Slot is shown the door.
What the expert says...
Other Contenders in the Sack Race
Thomas Frank (15/8)
The Tottenham boss is second in the market following a string of poor results that have seen Spurs struggle in the league this season.
Pressure is mounting with a real possibility of them getting dragged into the relegation battle.
Oliver Glasner (10/1)
With Crystal Palace sliding toward the drop zone and fans voicing discontent, Glasner could become a surprise casualty if results don’t turn soon.
Glasner has already announced he'll be leaving at the end of the season.
Sean Dyche (16/1)
Dyche’s Forest side got a massive win away at Brentford on Sunday.
While not a frontrunner for the sack, there's always a live chance of Forest sacking their manager with Evangelos Marinakis running the club.
