We could see Sir Gareth Southgate with the England manager 1/2 to be knighted

Despite losing to Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday evening, Gareth Southgate is now 1/2 to be knighted with the latest betting odds shortening on him becoming Sir Gareth.

Reports last week said that there were murmurs of that happening after England's European Championship campaign but England's loss to Spain could have damaged those chances.

Other members in the England setup have odds of being knighted too with captain Harry Kane and assistant manager Steve Holland also given odds.

Betting sites have regularly been offering specials throughout the Euros and there's now an 66.7% chance given that Southgate becomes Sir Gareth after the tournament wrapped up.

Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins also feature in market to receive honours

England's top scorer in the tournament Harry Kane and their Semi-Final hero Ollie Watkins both appear in the betting to receive any kind of honour following the Euros final defeat.

Previous examples of honours happening for big sports teams throws us all the way back to 2005 when the England cricket team won the Ashes against Australia.

Captain Michael Vaughan and coach Duncan Fletcher received OBE's with the other 11 players all recognised with MBEs and we may well see the same thing here despite England not winning.

Ollie Watkins2/133.3%
Jude Bellingham4/120.0%
