PROS & CONS of MagicRed Sports Online Betting Site

The below is all explained in finer detail later in this review, but these quick pros and cons give users an instant understanding of where MagicRed Sports’ strengths lie.

👍 PROS

🖥️ Clean site design

🏀 Incredible basketball markets

🤽‍♂️ Market-leading range of sports covered

👎 CONS

💰 Very little in the way of promotions

Who Are MagicRed Sports?

Part of the Aspire Global family, MagicRed Sports launched in 2023 and is registered through the AG Communications Ltd name, along with its casino. The sportsbook covers a huge range of sports, from the popular to very niche.

  • Established in 2023

  • AG Communications UK Ltd.

First Impression of MagicRed Sports

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - In this MagicRed Sports review, my first view was in November 2023. As a result, this review will reflect the service offered at that point in time. I signed up on the desktop version of MagicRed Sports, but also used the mobile version to compare. There is currently no MagicRed Sports app to download, however.

MagicRed Sports looks to be decent. There’s a lot going on the homepage, but everything appears how you’d like it. A quick scan across the page, plus navigating to a few different sections is an easy process, all moving along quite sleekly.

It’s important to note that there’s a lot of markets displayed per event, and that’s just on the homepage, on the main menu, there’s no “esports”, with individual games given their own tabs. Lastly, the range in sports offered looks enormous, with things like floorball and winter sports included.

MagicRed Sports Live Betting

Here in the UK on a weekday morning there should be some good in-play betting options, and this doesn’t disappoint.

There’s the expected selection of football, basketball, tennis and other major betting sports, but also some smaller events such as some esports, Counter Strike for example. While there isn’t a massive appetite for these markets, it’s nice to see these smaller markets covered.

The in-play part of the site is simple to find, right next to the main sports menu, and it brings up plenty of live betting options. The football matches, in particular, have plenty of markets and there is a small selection of statistics. A lot of markets have a stats icon, but this doesn’t load anything, which leads me to believe that’ll be implemented in the future.

MagicRed Sports in-play betting page

MagicRed Sports Live Streaming

As it stands MagicRed Sports doesn’t offer any live streaming.

MagicRed Sports Betting Odds

After checking some other bookmakers at the same time, plus a few comparison sites, it appears that the odds offered by MagicRed Sports are pretty average across the board. There are some longer odds in places, and some less competitive, but that depends on what you’re looking for. Covering smaller sports and events means that there are odds that you’ll get that simply don’t exist elsewhere.

MagicRed Sports Betting App or Mobile Site

As touched upon above, there is no MagicRed Sports app. Switching between mobile and desktop, I definitely preferred the mobile version. I like the in-play tab being in the menu below, leaving the main account menu at the top and the “More” menu in the bottom-right of the mobile view is really good and something I can’t see on the desktop version. It’s genuinely quite impressive how so much on one page all feels quite compact and relatively clean.

MagicRed Sports Football Betting

MagicRed Sports’s football section is pretty good. All the major events are covered, with plenty of markets in each. As mentioned above, the odds are about right, and finding your way through their football sections goes as it should.

Bet Builder

All the games that I selected had the bet builder feature available to them, and you only need two or more selections to use it. Compared to some bookies there aren’t quite as many markets, but there’s still a decent amount, including player markets.

Bonuses

Aside from the welcome offer the only thing I can see close to promotions are some boosted odds on specific markets. There are some casino promotions, however.

Cash Out

Cash Out is available at MagicRed Sports. It’s a feature that is now par for the course for bookmakers, so it’s reassuring to see it here. Cash Out is offered, but there is no partial cash out option unfortunately.

MagicRed Sports Horse Racing

The horse racing section at MagicRed Sports is fine. There are markets for all races in UK and Ireland, with fairly standard odds across the board, but there are no odds for any other international racing. Scanning other sportsbooks at the same time pulled up races today in France, Australia, Japan, the US and South Africa, plus a few more, but none of these were on MagicRed Sports.

There are also no horse racing promotions and MagicRed Sports doesn’t offer Best Odds Guaranteed.

MagicRed Sports racing betting page

MagicRed Sports US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. At the time of writing, only the NHL season isn’t up and running, with the other major leagues in full swing. Beyond that, and maybe somewhat surprisingly given its lack of international racing coverage, there are lots of international markets for these sports, particularly for basketball.

American Football Betting

I love how many  markets are displayed on the main American football section. Obviously there is the NFL, but seeing markets for the winner of the Sun Belt Conference, as well as some MAC outrights, in college football shows that they should have plenty covered.

Unfortunately, it actually gets a bit messy when I look for the spread in tonight’s NFL prime time game. That should be the first thing you see for a fixture, and although they have the moneyline and total shown, even when you click into the game itself and select “spread” it shows you all spread options and not the actual game line. There’s actually a load of markets to bet on, with bet builder available, but it does all start feeling a bit messy and confused.

It’s worth checking out our best NFL betting sites to see how MagicRed Sports compares overall.

MagicRed Sports NFL betting page

Basketball Betting

There is a massive array of leagues on offer at MagicRed Sports. Of course there is the NBA, and some international games, also. But on top of that, the sheer list of domestic leagues covered around the world is very impressive. We’re talking big ones like Greece, Spain, Italy and Australia, but also El Salvador, Slovenia, Japan and more. I don’t think I’ve ever seen more domestic basketball leagues covered on any other sportsbook.

Keep tabs on the top basketball betting sites though, to see if they make it onto our list.

Baseball Betting

MagicRed Sports's baseball section is fine. Across its US sports markets it's the same story in a lack of player bets. The markets that they do have for games are decent aside from that, but nothing to write home about, but weirdly, given how many basketball leagues are covered, there’s only US and Japanese baseball here.

Ice Hockey Betting

Like the basketball offering, as well as the biggest league in the sport, the NHL, there are a huge number of other leagues around the globe. You can bet on games in Switzerland, Sweden, England, the Czech Republic and more. There are good outright future markets for NHL betting, and the markets within games are loaded.

MagicRed Sports Darts Betting

In terms of darts betting sites in the UK, MagicRed Sports is solid. There are markets for the PDC World Championships, but only outrights. That aside, there markets for the Modus Super Series and Players Championship. I’d like to see more markets within each game, however.

MagicRed Sports Snooker Betting

By Steve Madgwick - I’m always on the lookout for great snooker betting sites. At the time of writing there are markets just for the World Championships, Masters and UK Championship, and each of these are just outrights.

As with some of the other sports, it’s clear that MagicRed Sports only covers the major events in a lot of sports. I’d hope that they increase the amount of markets for the tournaments that they do cover when it gets closer to the time, but it’s all pretty limited at the moment.

MagicRed Sports Rugby Betting (Union & League)

Event coverage is pretty good, with domestic games in England, Wales, France and New Zealand all featured, as well as some odds on next year’s Six Nations and European Rugby Championship. Likewise, with rugby league there is a small spattering of matches, but I’d definitely want more market options for said games.

There does need to be more markets per match, but the odds that they do have are very good when compared to our best Rugby betting sites.

MagicRed Sports Cricket Betting

By James Banting - It would have been nice to see some sort of promotion going on given that the Cricket World Cup is underway, but unfortunately there is nothing here along those lines.

The event coverage is okay, with domestic competitions in India, Australia and the UAE all there, as well as outrights for future World Cups and the Ashes, also.

Betway currently tops our Best Cricket betting site right now, with huge market depth, great odds and lots of promotions. MagicRed Sports actually matches them odds-wise, so hopefully they can up their market depth and they’ll be in with a shout of being one of the best around.

MagicRed Sports Tennis Betting

By James Banting - The tennis betting at MagicRed Sports is pretty good. There are all the majors listed for next year, with outrights offered on all, and for upcoming matches there is a decent selection of ATP matches, as well as Challenger Series matches across the world. It also goes down to ITF level, which is great to see.

The odds are decent. Scanning the ATP matches over the next couple of days I can definitely get more value here than most bookies. If they could add in more markets then they’d definitely be closer to getting into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.

MagicRed Sports Golf Betting

By James Banting - I’d like to see greater event coverage to be honest. Aside from the Ryder Cup and the four Majors, all of which are being played next year, there aren’t any other tournaments listed. There are definitely some LIV Golf Events that I’d expect to see, and a number of smaller events – Andalucia Masters, BMW Ladies Championship, plus a few more. That said, the odds are better than most so I’ll keep MagicRed Sports in mind when the majors roll around.

MagicRed Sports Motorsports Betting

By Andy Powell - Unfortunately, there is only Formula 1 or MotoGP listed at MagicRed Sports. That means no Speedway, Superbikes, or Nascar. I’d like to see more market depth for the Grand Prix – they only have winner, even for this week’s event, which is pretty disappointing to be honest.

MagicRed Sports Boxing Betting

By Frank Monkhouse former professional boxer - There are a lot of upcoming bouts, but definitely not as many as some other bookmakers, so some people may have to look elsewhere. On top of that, there aren’t that many markets, particularly on the smaller fights, although these may increase when closer to the time. Most of the bouts listed just have winner as a market and I’d definitely like to see more.

MagicRed Sports Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is a massive market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in.

Handball Betting

Handball is increasingly popular and MagicRed Sports looks to be offering plenty for punters to bet on various handball events and tournaments worldwide. As well as the World Championships and Champions League, there are domestic competitions in Denmark, France, Poland, Turkey and more. This is a really good handball option if that’s where your betting takes you.

Cycling Betting

MagicRed Sports offers betting on cycling for sports bettors who like to dabble in cycling betting, and comparing it with others out there it’s what we’d expect. There isn’t a load of markets, but that’s true of anywhere to be honest. What you can get is odds on next year’s Tour de France winner, as well as some of the Classics. This includes Paris-Roubaix, Milan-San Remo and the Tour of Flanders, and that’s better than a lot of other sportsbooks have listed at the same time.

Aussie Rules Football Betting

There isn’t a big market for betting on Aussie Rules in the UK, but it’s worth factoring in that there are few, if any, sports that rival the statistics on offer for the most intense, fast-paced sport south of the equator - AFL betting is available for at MagicRed Sports, and it’s actually covered pretty well.

Both the men’s and women’s AFL competitions are covered, although there’s nothing below that. In games themselves, there’s result, margin betting, half time, quarter markets and a few others.

Esports Betting

This is a pretty good showing from MagicSports. As mentioned above, each game that they cover has thier own, dedicated section on the main sports menu, rather than a catch-all "Esports" tab. It probably doesn't make that much difference in the long run n terms of user experience or navigation, but it's immediately clear which sports are covered. MagicRed offers markets on Dota 2, Counter Strike, Starcraft, Valorant, Warcraft and more.

Entertainment and Specials

By Jake Ashton - MagicRed Sports don’t have any entertainment or specials markets at the time of this review.

Virtual Sports

MagicRed Sports doesn’t have any markets for virtual sports. For more options, check out the best Virtual sports betting sites guide.

MagicRed Sports does have a full casino offering. Check our Casino Sites page for dedicated new online casinos and slot sites.

MagicRed Sports Account Opening Process

This couldn’t be easier. Three steps clearly signposted, and only having to input the usual information makes this a very straightforward process. When I signed up I did so using the app.

  1. Enter your email address and choose a password. Click “Sign Up” when you are ready.

  2. Create a passcode and choose whether you want to use Face ID.

  3. Verify your account using a personal ID. This can be a driving licence or something else

  4. Unlock the welcome offer.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

I definitely preferred the app when it comes to user experience. In fact, it wasn’t long before I was exclusively using it.

The main reason I have already mentioned. I have to say that one issue kept popping up for me on the desktop, which was why I made the permanent change. Once selecting a game or match, within a league, it’s quite difficult to get back to the league overview, without completing leaving the sport and landing on the homepage again. It did get quite frustrating.

That said, it’s a pretty good user experience, and moving between markets in an event is very straightforward.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to MagicRed Sports I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really makes this tick. On the desktop version, it’s stuff left and right of screen (menu and search to the left, account and bets to the right). On the app, it’s at the bottom, with search, account and bets at the top, with a main nav bar at the bottom that can get you to different sports, in-play options and casino (plus return to the home page).

MagicRed Sports Responsible Gambling Features

This is a strong point from MagicRed Sports. By going to their Responsible Gambling menu in the navigation, you can turn deposit limits on or off, and then obviously set what these limits are. You can also deactivate your account through their Self-Exclusion tool, add a timer to monitor how much time you’re spending betting or take a self-assessment test to monitor your behaviour more closely. Overall, it’s a really good showing.

MagicRed Sports Review Summary

Overall, MagicRed Sports is a decent, solid betting option compared to other UK sportsbooks. It’s obvious that this is a new product, and although there are some features missing, I definitely get the feeling that improvements are coming. There are a few little bits (icons that don’t load, or events that exist, but need more markets) that feel like they are about to be added or improved, and I’d be intrigued on coming back in a year, maybe less, to determine whether this has actually happened.

To make an impact MagicRed Sports needs to have longer odds, at least longer odds in a few specific markets, or simply up the promotions. We’ve reviewed a few new bookies who don’t have great odds, but loads of promotions, offers and odds boosts. Alternatively, they have hardly any promotions but fantastic odds. Here, there is neither.

On the up side, there are some sports here I don’t think I can bet anywhere else (stock car racing, for example), and leagues within sports (amazing event range in basketball and ice hockey) that really stand out as strengths. With that in mind, this could be a great port of call for some select bettors.
