This Plaza Royal Casino review was conducted across the desktop and mobile versions of the site, although there is currently no app to download.

There is definitely an emphasis on slots and jackpots when you arrive at Plaza Royal Casino, although once you start moving through the site you come across a decent selection of table games. There’s no getting around, or more accurately, getting rid of, the huge menu sidebar that takes up a lot of the page’s real estate, no matter where you navigate to.

Weirdly, there are lots of comparisons to Vegas casinos – “Plaza Royal can rival that of any casino…” – rather than comparisons with other online casinos. 

What is great about Plaza Royal Casino

The Live Casino part of the site is pretty huge. It’s not the easiest to hone in and try to find specific games because the search tool isn’t the best, but once you land at Live Casino games you do become aware of the size of the games library. There is blackjack, roulette, poker, baccarat and more. 

What is not great about Plaza Royal Casino

The worst part of Plaza Royal is the deposit and withdrawal costs. Most casinos have no fee, but here they charge 2.5% of your deposit amount to deposit by debit card and 3.1% of the deposit amount for a PayPal. This is more than most, but when you factor in that there is also a minimum fee of £2.50 for withdrawal, it means you’re paying £105 for every £100 that you paly with.

Plaza Royal Casino’s blackjack section is really good, and there’s a huge leaning towards live blackjack games, rather than standard ones. There are over 60 different live blackjack games listed, with most displaying stake limits form the off. It’s definitely easier to find these games by heading to the Live Blackjack part of the Live Casino page, rather than using the search tool, which only brings up 10 or so titles.

You can read the same for Plaza Roya’s roulette games as you do for the blackjack games, e.g. that there are lots of them and almost all of them are live versions. This leaning on live games is obviously part of the strategy to pitch the casino as being similar to Las Vegas itself. A lot of the games come from Authentic Gaming, which is always great when playing live table games as they’re arguably the best around doing it.

Plaza Royal Casino has seven live poker games, and these are all from Evolution Gaming. This is okay from Plaza Royal Casino, without being anything industry-leading. Even if live casino is the focus, there are a decent enough number in terms of blackjack and roulette, and it’s disappointing that there’s maybe not a few more poker titles, or some from other suppliers. Players can enjoy Caribbean Stud Poker, Side Bet City, Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em, among others.

Plaza Royal Casino has some slingo games at the time of this review, although they are not the easiest to find to be honest. You can search for them using the search tool, but given how this works for blackjack, or roulette, I’m not 100% convinced that this is all of them, and there is no Slingo section on the main menu bar, so I’m just going to have to trust them here. 

Plaza Royal Casino Scratchcards

There are just two scratchcard games here – Happy Scratch and Scratch Bronze, both from Hacksaw.

Navigation and User Experience

The mobile version works in much the same way as the desktop version, and it would be nice if there was a dedicated app because generally the user experience is pretty clunky. The website has navigation issues that I’ve highlighted above, and some game types – slingo, bingo, scratchcard etc. – are very limited, but the main one is the deposit and withdrawal costs. These additional fees are completely unnecessary, and definitely will put some players off.
