The William Muir & Chris Grassick trained Respiro Solitario cost me on his last couple of runs. I have not given up on him yet despite being a 9-race maiden. He has the best speed rating in the field. Respiro Solitario has run well in all his runs this year, finishing 343. Connections believe the step up in trip will help him, and he likes the track, so hopefully, they have found a good race for the Bated Breath 3yo gelding to break his duck.

This horse won last time out when staying on strongly and getting up on the line. This horse gets just a 3lb rise for that win, and I fancy with a strong run race, this horse will get the pace to run at and can win again.

There are reasons for thinking this one may put his previous mediocre runs behind him now. He's in a handicap and going over a much further trip, with the addition of cheekpieces and with the yard in good form. So, a small each-way wager may make a profit.

In fairness, did run poorly over 1m6f but has shown ability at 1m4f before. Still has solid claims at a price like this.

This is a weak affair so even though it was only a four runner race when SYDNEY WHISTLER was beaten by a length over this trip on handicap debut back in February, I still think he's worth a look off the back of that. Has had a flunk since then but at this price, a speculative each-way bet is in order.
