To be honest, Wellington Arch looks a class above the other runners in this race. He has been there and done that, and the others are all hopeful of taking a step up, which could happen, but I'm sticking to proven form.

A Perfect Day all but fell after taking the lead last time at Chepstow, which probably cost him the race. He only finished 5th, and off the same mark of 120 he should go close.

Below the Radar was fourth in this event last year behind today's favourite. He is much better off at the weights this time around and represents good odds.

Wellington Arch has plenty of weight to carry therefore it may be worth siding with Warriors Destiny who made a winning start to life in handicaps over today's CD when last seen. He holds some solid form prior to that; his 4th at Wetherby in a novice reads pretty well with most those around him rated in the 120's including the winner who was 2nd in a big field grade 3 hurdle at Sandown off 128 recently. He was a good 3rd to Moneygarrow, who ran in the Albert Bartlett (grade 1) yesterday, over 2m5f at Warwick. He won off 114 on handicap debut and is up 7lb but won by nearly 3L that day and looked to have a bit left up his sleeve. He's very much exposed, soft ground conditions won't be a problem and we know he handles the CD. The yard boast a 28% sr in handicap hurdles at this track this season.

Won a big handicap hurdle race in Ireland last spring. Came back into form last time at Haydock and could well be on a nice handicap mark at the moment.

West To The Bridge is a 13yo gelding trained by Dan Skelton is not getting any younger but has been a great servant winning 11/64 races and unlike most in this contest he comes here in good form and one of few who has been campaigning over todays trip with many up and down in distance from their last run - West To The Bridge has finished 2-1 in his last two starts winning at Chepstow by a head from Grenadier Jed who has finished a respectable third behind the extremely progressive Hold The Serve who has won his last three starts and the ever consistent French Emperor 140 - that was a good effort by West To The Bridge to make all at Chepstow and is only up 3lb - trip versatile and a 10 time winner on today's soft ground and represents a yard who are 10/27 wins 15/27 places in class 3 handicap hurdles at Uttoxeter and his West To The Bridge is a big player despite being 14-1.

Seemed like he was slowly getting his act together prior to his latest run at Sandown, which doesn't suit every horse. Down in grade here, and he continues to drop down the weights. At the long odds, I'm prepared to take a chance here.

Wellington Arch is a worthy favourite, but 5/2 is short enough. Firestream merits an each-way interest at 25/1. He is dropped back in trip after pulling up over three miles on bottomless ground at Chepstow. That was his first run for new trainer Chester Williams after a break of 12 months. After that return to action, Firestream is reunited with Sam Twiston-Davies, who rode him to victory two races ago. First-time cheekpieces aid the cause.

Nell's Son is getting on a bit but is considered to be returning to hurdling here. He ran well at Carlisle on seasonal debut from six pounds higher in the weights. Not really impactful in chasing since that Carlisle run, but maybe the return to hurdling is what is required. There's a chance of a big place return if he hits the top four.
