Not a great deal between these. Of the two previous winners at the track, Summer In Milan and Footloose Man, preference at the prices is for Footloose Man at 11/2. He won the Chichester Handicap in August over course and distance on good to soft. He remains on a handy mark with a light racing weight and had a spin 9 days ago.

Class-dropping Crackerjacque deserves to be favourite, but at evens is very short. French-bred Escort'kheops put up a good seasonal reappearance in a Class 2 race at Cheltenham and didn't appear to see out the stiff finish 10L behind well-regarded Chicker. With less of a stamina test today, he might improve for that run.

The Nicholls' horse and Game Colours have both run behind King William Rufus, but Game Colours got much closer when runner-up and was in receipt of a lot less weight than Zaochen Enki. Her yard is in form, suggesting the lack of a recent run may not be an issue for Game Colours.

Queensbury Boy is having his first run for his new owners and trainer. He put up a fair run on seasonal return last time in a Grade 2 hurdle at Chepstow, and this is quite a drop in grade. His last win was over two and a half miles, and he has also won on heavy ground.

Deep Purple may be better on quick ground, but he certainly stays 3 miles plus, and at 14/1 he is worth taking a chance. Jockey Tristan Durrell can claim three pounds, and he is at the top of his game at the moment, having won a valuable conditional jockeys' race at Cheltenham on Friday.

Joe Cotton and winner Royal Jewel were well clear of the field last time at Newton Abbot. Joe Cotton goes well at this track and is fancied to continue to improve.

A weak handicap with some moderate horses, albeit Atlantic Power is in good fettle. The Brickey Ranger is an intriguing runner, having been well supported when having his sole run for Ryan Potter's yard. This is his handicap debut, and with the application of a hood and the step up in distance, James Mullin's only runner could improve if fit enough after a lay-off.
