Career best last time when winning a similar race at Newcastle. The 4th won next time. A 4-pound rise doesn't look enough.

My Fortune is making his handicap debut today and will wear a tongue-tie for the first time. The horse will be led by solid jockey Ben Jones, and his preparation is the responsibility of the renowned trainer B. Pauling.

He has the potential to improve on his first outing following wind surgery. The odds are quite favourable for each-way at 14/1.

Dartmouth Rose has had three runs at this trip on good ground, which resulted in two places off 82 and a win off 83. She races here off 81 and has first-time cheekpieces. One of those placed efforts was over C&D, and she's still only a 6yo, so there's every chance she can build upon that here despite being 12/1 and friendless in the early market.

8yo mare Kylenoe Dancer comes with some risk attached in this race. She returns from 321 day break and goes against males here. But she has won her last race over 2m3f at Fontwell last May. Trip and ground conditions suit and she is on a really handy mark. Could be good for a little surprise here.

Ever Ready is still a maiden after eight starts but has shown improvement recently and looks interesting here. Her best run was when runner-up over course and distance last month, beaten just 0.5 lengths. She ran well again when fourth at Huntingdon 13 days ago, beaten 6.25 lengths. She is 1 lb lower here and looks like a good each-way bet with four places on offer.

Bravethewaves reverts back to hurdles, having won by twenty lengths in a handicap chase at Doncaster last time. Although he has not run over hurdles since December 2024 and he ran poorly in his last three hurdle races ??' beaten around 40 lengths or more in all of them ??' his mark has fallen from 89 to 78. He has won four chases since then, including here over two and a half miles, and he could go close off 85.

Has shown ability in three races under rules and now steps up in trip for her handicap debut. Placed in all four points, her stamina seems assured, and she should be able to improve on what she has achieved to date.

FEET ON THE GROUND returns to the same course and handicap mark as when last seen here at the beginning of December. Was second on that day and also has Jonathan Burke back in the saddle, who got a tune out of her in that race. Could feature if in that sort of mood, and almost half of the stable's runners have placed or better here in the past 12 months.

Cool Master could be worth taking a chance with on handicap debut. He was well beaten in his first two starts. In his latest run he was still beaten a fair way when fourth at Carlisle, but that race was won by a Willie Mullins French import whose next run is due in a Listed hurdle off a mark of 138. The runner-up from that race won next time out. Related to a good-ground winner, and the dam won a bumper and twice over hurdles, so you would expect this gelding to be capable of winning a race like this.

Despite a mishap last time when unseating Danny McMenamin at Market Rasen, We Got Your Back had been running consistently well over fences. Connections switch him back to hurdles, presumably for a bit of a confidence boost. His jockey can claim seven pounds, and she is in fine form, having ridden into a place in the Challenge Cup at Cheltenham earlier in the month.
