I think we've seen stronger Chipchase Stakes in previous years. However, this one looks very competitive. Wiltshire won the sprint on All-Weather Finals Day, confirming his liking for this track. He didn't show anything at Newbury last time, but I suspect this has been the target for him since his last appearance at the track.

Finally lived up to trainers faith winning the jersey last season in brilliant fashion. Season finished in disaster with injury at glorious goodwood. Can build on his first run this season on soft ground In France and tap back into his impressive potential.

Open sprint, and Poet Master just looked far too big on his first try back at 6f. He doesn't lack for speed, and drawn alongside Diligent Harry he should get a lovely tow into it, and his extra staying power can pay in the closing stages. He chased down Ten Bob Tony at Epsom so I'm surprised to see him double figures here given what he came out to do at Ascot. He'll probably need to be up there with his career best efforts, but he's a fascinating one to see how he goes at the trip.

Heathcliff is a tentative selection who may surprise with a big run after being unplaced at Royal Ascot. He may be chasing home Heavenly Heather. Heathcliff is a course-and-distance winner and could be capable of being in the mix at good odds for four places.
