Three turf runs for the 6yo mare this year, getting her act together four weeks ago with a cosy 3L win. She has a higher mark now but she was rated 12lb higher last summer.

Superior Council looks to be well placed here and has got to be in with a great chance against the field. Giselle's Izzy rates a possible danger, but I like the chances of this horse here.

Rain Cap is an 8-year-old gelding trained by John David Riches. He has 7 wins out of 57 on turf, and this CD winner handles today's good ground. He runs 2lb below his last winning mark at Catterick off 48, so he is not being strangled by the handicapper. The trainer does well with what he has, and they often go well if fancied by the odds compilers, i.e., 9-2 or less. He has 14 wins out of 50. His yard is also in good form, putting up a great training performance with his last runner and winner, Good Karma, at 9-1, who won by a comfortable 1.75 lengths after a 190-day absence and a horse that hadn't won for over 731 days. Big chance.

Not many Goldie horses here today, but this one had the best run to date last time. A decent third and looks like its time to strike is near. Won't mind rain and big player.

B Rothwell trained and has been tinkered over various trips to no avail thus far. Has shown ability without finishing with it. Drops a furlong again since last run, so here's hoping.
