Montassib is a previous winner of this race in 2024 and finished last season with a decent 5th, considering how unconventionally they left the stalls in November in the Listed Wentworth Stakes. He hasn't run since then, but that shouldn't be an issue, as he has won or gone well numerous times after such a break. Should be thereabouts if they get their stall exit sorted.

My mate Alfie is such a consistent and game horse. He has been transferred from Ireland to the David O'Meara stable and usually runs very well first time out.

He’s got something to find on ratings here, but Aramram looks worth a shot up in class. Rarely out of the frame over 6f last year, culminating in his mark rising above 100 for the first time. He won over course and distance back in 2024 on soft ground in a time that would have won this last year, and in doing so beat Spycatcher, who currently sits as favorite here, so he doesn’t lack ability. 2/2 for a place when returning off a break. The top of this market looks ripe for taking on, even if this horse doesn’t come out on top on ratings adjusted for weights here. He could be drawn in the right place to get a good tow into this, and his ability to stay a stiff 6f at Ascot could bode well for a strong finishing effort if he isn’t outclassed.

Group 3 winner back in October, who comes here with a run under his belt. Okay to win this aged 7, the same age as last year's winner. Goes well on soft, sand or firmer. Looks value with four places on offer.

Interesting return back to the track in February last year when edged 2nd at Lingfield of five runners on the back of a wind and gelding op. The three-time Class One winner now has a further break to contend with, but could be a great price if going well again fresh here.

Has a decent course record, and this one normally runs his race when fit. A lot is banking on the stable having this one ready to go to provide a shock.
