Oman, several runs ago, ran 2nd of 9 at Chelmsford in January, staying on over today's trip, and then 2nd at Wolverhampton over a furlong shorter. He seems to be consistent at this distance, and being by Derby winner Australia, could ??' and possibly does ??' stay further. Should be thereabouts in an open contest.

Rogue Empire ran a very decent race to finish 3rd of 8 at Kempton a fortnight ago after over 200 days off the track. Led for most of the way before just getting outpaced in the final furlong. Now back down into a Class 6 event, and if learning from their last contest, could go very well from the front. NAP

Encounter cost 95,000 gns and is the selection to start to repay some of that with a possible winning debut. Ryan Moore travels here for only this ride, which should be a tip in itself, and the hint should be taken.

Behike was very impressive when winning by 7 lengths on their last start here on the all-weather surface four weeks ago. Has an entry at Royal Ascot in the Commonwealth Cup next month and will surely show further improvement on only their third start. Should take a lot of beating if converting form to turf, and there is no reason why they shouldn't.

Michael Appleby won this race last year and could follow up with their runner, Hedge Fund. Is only 1 lb higher than their last winning mark of 73 and has tumbled in the ratings with 17 runs since then. Was far too keen on their seasonal reappearance at Beverley after virtually 200 days off the track. With those cobwebs blown away and now on a competitive mark based on previous form, could well bounce back and start to take advantage of it.

Yes. Waliim was the 16/5 favourite when they disappointed, finishing 10th of 13 at Windsor a fortnight ago. Could have needed the run after having wind surgery and a first run for 147 days. Was obviously well thought of to be favourite on their handicap debut, and now down to the minimum trip with that previous run out of the way could well bounce back here. Interesting to see if the money returns.
