A trappy-looking race, but MY BOY HARRY has plenty of experience to draw upon and comes here on the back of a course win over a furlong further a week ago. Capable of following that up back over 6f today.

Not the easiest to win with (19-race maiden), but has often shown plenty in defeat, including two runs over course and distance in April that, if repeated, would be enough to take a weak contest such as this. Headgear back on and Joey Haynes up, both slight negatives in my opinion, but still looks the pick of a weak field.

Below par when last seen over the winter, and hopefully a recent 5-month break will freshen him up. He has good stats at this track. Six runs back, he was a close runner-up over this 6f C/D on quick ground while off a decent 59 handicap rating. He now drops into a weak 0-50 level weights contest and would be a big player if anywhere near his best.

Sugar Kane is a 3-year-old gelding trained by the dynamic duo Daniel & Claire Kubler. He is 0-4 and runs in a classified stakes for the first time under Jim Crowley. He didn't go unfancied on handicap debut at Doncaster under a notable jockey booking in Billy Loughnane, 12-1 into 17-2, and got beat by 5 lengths. Daniel & Claire Kubler had a fantastic July in 2024, picking up 15 wins from 42 runners and had a 50% place strike rate. Five of their first six runners in July 2024 won: 1-1-1-2-1-1. The dam was very ordinary, 0/1, but related to three individual winners with RPR of 79-87-104, who performed best over 10f, 6f, 6f. So surely Sugar Kane better than a mark of 47, and a classified stakes and today's 6f in a first-time tie should reap benefits.

Battle Point was second last time out and came on strong at the end to finish second. At 12/1, it is well worth an each-way shot. 0.5 points each way.
