Kansas has finished placed in all three of his runs so far and was two places ahead of main rival Baker Blue last time and looks the most likely winner.

Baker Blue has come up against some good level opposition and performed well on all 3 starts. Has 3 lengths to find on the short-price favorite here, but that was after an awkward break out of the stalls. Could be closer matched for this contest and represents the value bet for the race, in my opinion.

SPICETOWN showed good pace on his debut and is a juvenile colt who attracted a little support first-up. Likely that tells us he is considered a forward type and Tipperary's sharp circuit over this minimum trip could see him to good effect with a talented 7lb claimer called up.

Namiid shaped with strong promise on debut at Navan, finishing sixth behind Kansas in a race that's proving a key formline. He travelled well for much of the race and was only caught late, showing enough tactical speed and stamina for today's 5f. Trainer JP Murtagh is doing well with 2YOs this season, and draw 4 suits on a track favouring pace.

Looked in need of the experience on his debut at Down Royal. Bearing that in mind, and the troubled passage he endured during the race, he didn’t fare too badly. Should be more to come and worth a second look.
