Runcok is a 5-year-old gelding trained by Willie Mullins. Today's race is in much calmer waters, having finished behind four stablemates in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse, beaten just 5.5 lengths, posting a career-high RPR of 137. Previously, he beat a well-touted debutant, Grey Pharoh, trained by Gordon Elliott, by 1.5 lengths, with Free Flow back (RPR 94) in third, some 26.5 lengths behind. Free Flow won next time out, posting an RPR of 113, so there could definitely be more room for improvement for Runcok. He is my short-priced banker of the day under stable jockey Paul Townend.

The two horses that beat this horse on its first hurdle run after a long break have both performed well since, especially Jubilee Alpha, who won at Cheltenham in April. That run would give the horse a great chance here, and with normal improvement, I am expecting the horse to win here.
