Showed promise in a couple of two-year-old maidens and was given a considerate ride on return at Limerick, having been off for 5 months. Moved into handicaps last time at the Curragh, finishing a respectable 4th over an extended 6f. Here, from what looks an inviting mark and dropping back to 6f, could go close. Goes up slightly in trip here from a 2lb lower mark and can go close.

Fairyhouse winner Lovely is in with a chance here today. She will have to see off Bamako, who is also in good form.

Not an overly inspiring bunch but NIGHT MAGIC should be spot on after her seasonal debut at Fairyhouse last month and she did show some ability as a two year old at this trip.

This filly has been a model of consistency, hitting the frame on her last three starts. Dropping back to a more suitable trip, she looks poised for a breakthrough win.

This gelding caught the eye with a fast-finishing sixth last time out. The step up to seven furlongs appears ideal, and with the likelihood of a strong pace to aim at, he represents excellent each-way value.

A non-runner has just pulled out, but you can still get this 10-1 price, which in my opinion is very generous. Came 2nd last time out and lost on the nod in a tight finish. Wasn't well positioned with roughly a furlong to go and had to come from off the rail and around to get a run. Has run in a race on yielding/soft and did okay, so I'm hoping conditions, although not the best, are not a concern.

Ger Lyons has Washington Street out in his first handicap, and this gelding by Earthlight could be progressive enough to be a stronger player than his price mark of 16/1 indicates.

I'm not quite sure why Thomas Cleary's 3-year-old filly Kilgharrahs Love is currently trading at 25/1, especially with the impending rainfall due here in County Kilkenny. This daughter of Dragon Pulse's best efforts came here on testing ground, finishing 4th here 53 days ago. The handicapper has shed 4 lbs. Trainer Thomas Cleary's record here is a modest 21.74% place strike rate over the past 5 years. Jockey Sean Davis was in the winner's enclosure this past week. At these odds, with the potential juice-filled ground and experience getting up this hill, I can't ignore.

Went very hard from the front with a rival Lto and only weakened 2f out when coming 7/10 beaten 22 lengths in a decent maiden over 1.2 miles @ the Curragh. Big drop in trip here on handicap debut and has the look of a plot horse with the booking of top jockey C. Hayes, making current 22/1 solid Ew value in the race.

Not been disgraced in her four starts in maidens so far and was noted making good late headway last time at Down Royal over 7f. Moves into handicaps now from a competitive-looking mark and rates a strong player.

The Dias runner that won at a big price last time out does look like the one to beat, but is top weight. There are a few in here that might do well at a price: my win tip Bamako, handicap debutantes Givehertilxmas and Ethereal Star (with the latter down 3 furlongs in distance), and my tip here Boyne Valley, who has just gone out to 50-1, so maybe not the right choice. However, a drifting price has never put me off, and on last year's form in her last two races, both 3rd, she should be more competitive second up this season. Clearly lacked race fitness last time out as she was running well in 4th but was wide on the turn in and faded after that, and that was in a higher grade race, so this should suit better today.
