Beat good yardstick Conyers Hill by a very looking 10l back in the spring and was value for more considering made all and around here that style of running could suit. Seems to appreciate good ground and is very unexposed as is an improving 7yo. You need a progressive sort to win the Galway Plate these days and there must be more to come from this lightly raced sort. Has had a nice prep run since that bold effort at Punchestown and despite a 10lb hike ran a cracker at Wexford to finish second despite a welter burden. Rallied after a mistake and seems a strong stayer which is another plus as seems to find more even though races prominently. Looks to have a fine chance and though jumping could improve a tad, obviously has some engine. I'm hoping he isn't used up too early and can finish well to hit the frame at the very least. Gives the impression will stay this trip and my only doubt is Darragh O'Keefe not picking him to ride de Bromhead's other runner. Yard had big priced 4th in this last year and I love this one's chances.

Barry Lyndon looks to have strong claims in the 6.40 Galway Plate after a career-best victory in a big-field handicap at Punchestown on his latest start. Buddy One remains fairly unexposed over fences and connections were transparent that his handicap debut in this race last year was absolutely the plan and but for a late mistake, he'd have gone very close. He's a 40/1 shot for a reason but he's not without a chance and the booking of Sean Flanagan is eyecatching. He was given a pipe-opener on the flat at Fairyhouse recently, suggesting that this is once again, 'the plan' and happy to take a chance at a big each way price.
