Rosy Affair has improved with age winning her last two races as a four year old in 2025 at Listed and Group 3 level. This season she started with a close 2nd and then a win at Listed level and ran her best race yet to be a close 4th of 26 in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot and this race should be within her capabilities.

This is a competitive-looking Group 2, with 9 of the 10 runners officially rated 101 or higher. Topping the ratings is HAVANA ANNA, one of three three-year-olds in the field. This filly has won on three of her nine starts, with the latest of those wins coming on her seasonal reappearance in a Group 3 at Naas (6f, Good, Good to Yielding in places). She subsequently exceeded market expectations when finishing fourth in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot (6f, Good to Firm) last time out, 2L behind the 115-rated winner. She drops back to 5f today, a distance she has handled well previously. Her previous try at this trip came in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Del Mar when she finished last of 12. That's her only poor performance of her career, having not finished out of the frame in any of her other eight starts. Excluding that Del Mar run, her form figures over 5f read '112'. She has been supplemented for today's assignment, suggesting that she took the efforts of her previous race outing well, and a repeat of that level of performance would make her very tough to beat today.

Miss Kate McGivern's five-year-old gelding steps up to Group 2 level today in the Sapphire Stakes after a massive bounce-back win last time. He absolutely bolted up at 28/1 to land a 5-furlong handicap at Cork in June, showing a lethal turn of foot on good ground. He's an incredibly quick horse when things click, and he already has a course-and-distance win to his name here at the Curragh. Chris Hayes is back in the saddle, and while this is a much deeper Class 1 assignment, his current upward momentum makes him a highly intriguing outsider to track the pace and hit the frame.
