US Womens Open Tips

World number 2 has been in incredible form having won 3 out of her last 9 competitions. She recently won the Mizuho Americas Open which included a 1st round 64. She has been very consistent. Predict her to do well in this competition.

Nelly Korda has the best scoring average on the LPGA Tour so could well feature at the end of play. Her average is 68.88

Haeran Ryu is the world number 5. She recently won the Black Desert Championship, which included a 1st round 63 and 9 birdies, 5 on the back 9. She also won the FM Championship. A player in excellent form. Predict her to do well in this event.

Ranked 9th in the world, Jin Young Ko looks a good price here, judging by her recent very strong form with two finishes in the top 7 in her last two events.

Lydia won the Olympic gold and the AIG Open last summer. With five top 15 finishes in the Championship, she has the skill to win this event. Plus, her short game is one of the best in the ladies' game.

Finished 9th in the US Open last year. She has posted 3 top 10 finishes in her last 9 events. She finished 2nd in the Blue Bay LPGA and also finished 4th in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament, which included an impressive final round of 62. If she brings her A-game, she has a big chance.

The best player not to have won a Ladies Major yet may be Charley Hull, a 29-year-old English lady who has tended to showcase her talents best on the biggest of stages. Splitting time between the LPGA and Ladies European Tour, she is used to playing on all continents. She has finished as a runner-up on three occasions and was runner-up in the US Women's Open as recently as 2023. Good value odds each way at 40/1 this week.

Yealimi Noh is currently ranked 18 on the Rolex Rankings list. Won the Founders Cup this year, and finished top 10 in 4 other 2023 tournaments. Each way chance.

A 3-time winner on both the Korean Tour and the LPGA, A Lim Kim was the winner of this event in 2020 for her to date sole major title. But she certainly has the game to add more to her resume, and on a driver-heavy course, she should be well suited here.

Esther Henseleit comes into this event in great form, having finished top 5 in 2 out of her last 4 events. She recently finished 2nd in the Black Desert Championship, which included a 1st round 65. She has a chance to finish in a place at a big price.

Mao Saigo is ranked 13 on the current Rolex Rankings list. She jumped 24 places after winning the last women's major, The Chevron Championship. Each way chance.

Jiyai Shin usually sticks to playing in Japan and just picks her major tournaments elsewhere. She has come 2nd in this tournament before.

Linn Grant has yet to have a top 20 finish in this championship, but she was inside the top 5 at halfway in 2018 and 2020.

This year has been a see-saw roller coaster ride for twenty-seven-year-old Lydia Vu, who has failed to make the cut in two of her last three events, with only a 78th place finish in the first Ladies Major of the year in the Chevron Championship. She has won two Ladies Majors in 2023 and had two runner-up finishes a year later. So, I am not going to give up on her reproducing that kind of form as she is in the pinnacle of her career, and her odds of 90/1 offer each-way value this week. She showed her class when going 22 under in the Ford Championship this year.

Chiara Tamburlini has performed well in Europe, having finished top 10 in 6 out of her last 8 events. The last time she played in the US was in 2024, she finished T6 at the Aramco Team Series. If she can bring her European form to the US, she will have a big place chance at a big price.

Nataliya Guseva is a name that is going to be a contender in majors for years to come. It wouldn't surprise me if she makes an impact as early as this week, as her game has been in a really consistent spot this season. She ranks 20th on tour for driving distance, which is a key performance indicator for this week in my eyes, and also ranks 13th for total birdies, which means when she gets chances, she can take them.
