100 Spins Test

This 100 Spin test was updated by Steve Madgwick on 22/09/2023

100 spins is not a Real Test

We give every slot a 100 spin test to see just what it can do, or not as the case can often be - 100 spins is no reflection of the likelihood of any other 100-spin session, as RTP's are set over many millions and probably billions of spins. So this 100 spin test is just for entertainment and insight purposes

Test Comments

Love it!!, Like Beavis and Butthead go to the office without the heavy rock or voices, but that vide is there in the symbols - Anyway onto the test - I was fortunate to hit the free spins round after just 9 spins, and I had not yet figures out what was going on - What was going on is I had a win that was eventually multiplied at the end to return a very nice 137x bonus game win. This contributed to an overall 187.9% RTOP for the session made up of 29 wins producing an average winning spin value of 6.47x, and even removing the bonus round, those wins came out at a decent 1.81x

Game Data

On hearing the title of this game Dolly Parton's hit song '9 to 5' popped into my head. But this uplifting song is far removed from the drudgery of this game's setting. Here the workplace is called Rat Race Inc and it doesn't look like the most uplifting of work settings. The game info tells us that 'Every day our superstars are blessed to wake up to the sweet symphony of Excel sheets, powdered coffee, and a cubicle with a view... of more cubicles.' Oh, what a joy.

As well as the xNudge Wild Feature already mentioned there are also 2 Free Spins rounds which are aptly named Middle Management and Ivory Tower Spins. These are all about the multipliers which can either be increased or decreased up to a mega 9,999.

During this in-depth Nine To Five slot review, you’ll be able to read about all aspects of this brand-new release so let’s get stuck in.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects

The sights and sounds of this game really are amazing. The game is set in an office from the 1990s so the imagery has been created to look pixilated.

There are oodles of sound effects including one of those annoying recorded customer service messages when you're on hold for hours, this one tells you that there are 99,000 calls ahead of you. You can hear a falsely cheery Radio Rat Race in the background. There is the sound of computers, including the audio of the dial-up internet tone. Which used to take half an hour to load up just one page. There are also cheesy recordings of people saying lines like 'the most important thing is that we all have fun' (yeah right)  and 'I'd work here even if you didn't pay me' (hmmm).

The music is always topnotch in Nolimit City games as it helps to create the storytelling element.  Nine To Five contains a humorous song about being a middle management robot during the Middle Management Spins. And if you trigger the Ivory Tower Spins then congrats you've become CEO. Here the music is something tropical you'd hear on a far-flung beach holiday destination. Although being Nolimit City they've added a few sound effects of someone with a flatulence issue.

Key Features

I've now covered the summary, intro, graphics, music, and sound effects. Next on the list, I’m going to explore the key game features.

At OLBG we create slot games reviews that include up-to-date info about essential features such as the theme, paylines and reels, bet range, and bonuses. I’ll wrap up the review by talking about my play experience, first impressions and expert verdict.

Theme – Work

The theme of the game is work, work, work! To be precise, it's a tedious office workplace. When you launch the base game an old-fashioned computer screen pops up which shows the blue screen of death.  This then transforms into the reels once you start spinning. In the background, you'll see the usual office paraphernalia of a pinboard adorned with post-it notes and postcards of exotic destinations the employee is dreaming of visiting. During the Ivory Tower Spins the background is a pixillated beach scene.

Win messages are accompanied by motivational leadership buzzwords such as 'compassion' and 'leadership' and show people passed out due to the joylessness of their jobs.

The reels contain bright-coloured imagery and in order of highest value first you'll discover The Manager followed by three male employees. The lower-paying symbols are a stapler, mug, lunch box and a fax machine.

The special symbols include a green wild, a red wild and scatter symbols which spell out corporate messages.

The Nine To Five game is made up of 5 reels and 4 rows to play with.

There are 1,024 non-adjustable paylines where you can trigger wins.

Return to Player is most commonly referred to as RTP on slot sites. This is a way of measuring theoretically what percentage of players's stakes will be returned to them over the long term. The higher the number the better for players. RTP should be around 96% or more ideally. Nine To Five is slightly over the average at 96.03%.

Nolimit City use this RTP figure as a default value so if you shop around you’ll discover several rates. To save you some time, we’ve identified a few at some of the popular UK online casinos and added them to the table below.

Incidentally, RTP is just one consideration when deciding which site to play at. You should also think about payment options, game library, customer support and welcome bonuses and deals. Our casino reviews look at this info and much more.

Stake Range

There’s a wide bet range for the Nine To Five slot game which starts at £0.20 and goes right up to £280.

Max Win

Nolimity City always gives a name to their max win feature and the Nine To Five feature is called 'Big Win Not Found' and the payout is 9,217x your stake.

Wild Shape

The Wild Symbols only land on reels 2-5 and they transform into 2 different types. There's a Green Wild Symbol which is an active Wild Symbol with a random symbol multiplier ranging between 1 - 5x. There's also a Red Wild Symbol which is a dead symbol.

There is also NLC's trademarked xNudge Wild symbol which again, only lands on reels 2-5. This will always need to be fully visible. Each time it nudges the multiplier increases by 1. And once it covers the reels it will nudge additional steps from 0 to 9. Also, Several xNudge Wild multipliers can multiply with each other for a total Nudge multiplier.

Free Spins

There are 2 Free Spin rounds available for the Nine To Five game. Firstly there is the Middle Management Free Spins round. The Scatter Symbols land on reels 2-5 and landing 3 Scatters will trigger 10 spins. During the Middle Management Free Spins round the Layoff and Lawsuit Symbols can land. The Lawsuit symbol acts before the Layoff symbol. Every time a Layoff Symbol lands it increases the win multiplier by 1 whereas each Lawsuit Symbol decreases it by 1. The multiplier value can be anywhere between 1 to 9,999 and the amount is awarded at the end of the round. If you land the Overtime Symbol you'll receive 1 spin per symbol. If 2 or more Overtime Symbols land during the same spin you'll be upgraded to the Ivory Tower Spins round.

Landing 4 Scatters will trigger the Ivory Tower Free Spins round where you'll receive 12 free spins. The character symbols for this round are called the Tech Layoff Symbol and the ‘CtrI+Alt+Del ’ symbol. Ctrl+Alt+Del’ Symbol acts before the Tech Layoff symbol. Firstly, the Tech Layoff Symbol adds a win multiplier and then next the value of the next Tech Layoff multiplier is doubled. The value of these multipliers ranges between 1 and 9,999. The win multiplier is applied at the end of the round.

Like most slot games nowadays, the Nine To Five slot game doesn't have a jackpot element. If jackpots are your thing you should visit our page with the best jackpot slot games.

Play Experience & First Impressions

During play the xNudge Wild triggered many times which was an enjoyable feature. I enjoy a nudging wild as not only are there more chances to win but they work great visually on the reels. Especially in this case it can once it covers the reel, it will also nudge up to an extra 9 steps. If you manage to trigger it a few times it can be worth it as several xNudge Wild multipliers can multiply with each other to give you a total nudge multiplier amount.

NLC's popular xWays feature was also entertaining. Here 2-4 symbols of the same kind are revealed which can be any paying symbol. If there is more than one xWays symbol, then all xWays symbols will reveal the same symbol. This adds another layer to the gaming experience.

The Free Spins bonus rounds of Middle Management Spins and Ivory Tower Spins were easy to follow and it's clear how they work. Depending on what symbols trigger multipliers can either be increased or reduced and you see this in a box at the top of the screen. The fact it goes all the way up to 9,999 is impressive.

Expert Verdict

Hands up if you've ever worked in a dreary office. I know I certainly have. The migraine-inducing fluorescent lighting, the blander-than-bland white walls, the printer breaking every half hour. The same old advice from the IT support department telling you to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. You try to escape the gloom for 5 minutes and head to the kitchen for a cuppa only to be cornered by boring Dave in accounts to discuss this week's KPIs (yawn). It can really feel like Groundhog Day if you work in the wrong office. And Rat Race Inc certainly gives off those tedious vibes.

Nine To Five uses a fantastic story, it's very immersive, and it's almost like playing a computer game. NLC are the kings and queens of storytelling, and this is certainly what they do best. And impressively, this is done with off-the-wall themes. This game was simpler than their previous three releases of Roadkill, Ugliest Catch, and Space Donkey and I preferred this. The recent games have been rather difficult to understand, whereas this game has their popular trademarked features of xNudge Wilds and XWays mixed with two strong free spins rounds which is a great combo.

The stake range was slightly wider for this game at £0.20 - £280.  And, the max win was lower at 9,217x which seems to be the trend for Nolimity City games at the moment, they are slowly reducing. However, with an RTP rate of 96.03% and an extreme volatility rating this is about normal for NLC.

This game reminded me of the TV series The Office, in fact, it makes me want to watch it again as it shows that there can be so much comedy in such a mundane situation. I would 100% recommend the Nine To Five slot game as it's so much fun.
