The Mental slot begins with 5 reels and 108 ways to win with a 3x2x3x2x3 formation. To land a winning combination, you need to see 3 or more matching symbols from left to right on adjacent reels and beginning from the leftmost reel. Only the highest win per way to win will be won. Fire Frames

On every base game spin, 1 to 13 positions on the reels will randomly get a Fire Frame and will be edged in flames. These symbols then split into 2 parts which increase the number of ways to win and increase your chances of landing winning combinations.

Dead Patient

The Dead Patient feature is triggered when you land 2 Dead Patient symbols simultaneously. Each Dead Patient symbol comes with a random multiplier ranging from 5x up to 9999x. The multipliers then apply when part of winning combinations.

Enhancer Cells

You’ll see Enhancer Cells located at the bottom of reels 2 and 4. They become active if you land 4 and 6 Fire Frames respectively. Each Enhancer Cell will reveal one of the following symbols:

• Patient: 1 of the 5 Patient symbols.
• Dead Patient: A Dead Patient symbol.
• xWays: Reveals 3 symbols of the same type and expands the reel(s) height. It can reveal any symbol except the Scorpion/Spider Scatter or Dead Patient.
• xSplit: It splits 1 symbol on each reel and doubles those symbols as well as splitting itself into 2 wilds.
• Wild: A regular Wild symbol.
• xNudge Wild: The xNudge Wild always nudges to become fully visible on the reel. With every nudge, the win multiplier increases by 1.

Mental Transform 

If you land the Spider Scatter symbol on reel 2 or 4 in the base game, you will activate the Mental Transform feature. The Spider Scatter is transformed into a Patient, Dead Patient, Wild, xSplit or xWays symbol.

Autopsy Free Spins 

The Mental slot benefits from 3 free spins features. First up is the Autopsy Free Spins feature which is triggered by landing 3 Scorpion Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 simultaneously during a base game spin. With 8 free spins awarded, each Scorpion Scatter within a Fire Frame will add 1 extra free spin to your tally.

Up to 5 positions on the reels will randomly get a Fire Frame on each free spin. These Fire Frames are sticky for the duration of the feature. You can also upgrade to the other 2 free spins features:

Lobotomy Free Spins

With up to 5 Fire Frames on every free spin, the Spider Scatter is sticky and activates the Mental Transform feature on every free spin.

Look out for Patient symbols as the highest multiplier for each symbol is collected with its ‘Count’. Once collected, the Dead Multiplier is transferred to their respective Patient symbols based on the ‘Count’ when a newly collected Patient symbol appears on the reels. Every time a Dead Multiplier is transferred, the ‘Count’ is reduced by 1.

Finally, landing 2 Spider Scatter symbols will trigger the Mental Free Spins feature. This will occur once every 25 times you play the feature.

Mental Free Spins 

Finally, the Mental Free Spins feature is triggered by landing 3 Scorpion Scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 plus 2 Spider Scatters during a base game spin. With 10 free spins awarded, every Scorpion or Spider Scatter within a Fire Frame will also give you 1 extra free spin.

With all extras from the Lobotomy Free Spins feature in play, both Spider Scatters are sticky and will award the Mental Transform feature on very free spin. Mental is one of the most terrifying slot games I’ve ever played. It combines various mechanics through Enhancer Cells, Dead Patient multiplier up to 9999x, 3 free spins features and 66,666 x bet max wins.

For starters, the Mental slot game is as scary as they come. Sinister, demented, dark and grim, it’s no walk in the park. The graphics are terrifying and the soundtrack is intense which creates a unique proposition that will divide slot players.
