The Apocalypse slot takes place on 6 reels, 4 rows and 4,096 ways to win. Winning combinations are formed when 3, 4, 5 or 6 identical or matching symbols appear from left to right starting from the leftmost reel, and in any position on their reel. Released on the 23^rd of July 2024, NLC has been inspired by the Fallout television series which is available on Amazon Prime by the way. The setting is a post-nuclear city which depicts a world in runs with burned-out cars, destroyed buildings and a full moon. There’s also a screen with ‘The End is Nigh’ on it as well as ‘All is Lost’ and ‘Ha ha ha!’ on the main building in the middle of the city.

The soundtrack is a mixture of 1960s jazz swing and violins with a serious undertone to set the mood. You’ll also hear walkie talkies thrown in. If you’re a fan of TV series such as The Rain or The Walking Dead, you’ll love the game.

On the reels, you have 5 greyed-out symbols including a crossbow, gas mask, first aid kit, fuel can and food tin. The higher-value symbols include mutated characters Creator, Triplet, Cutter, Licker and Crawer. Triplet is of particular interest as she has 3 breasts like the prostitute in the 1990 Total Recall movie which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. Anyway, Crawer is the best-paying symbol awarding 2.5 times your total bet for 6 in combination.

Apocalypse Mobile

Apocalypse has 9 bonus features. In the base game, there are xNudge Wilds and Super xNudge Wilds which expand downwards and increase the payout multiplier with each nudge. The Super ones can combine for an 8x multiplier. With 3 hold ‘n’ win spins features, you collect value symbols in the Hoarding phase. In the Feasting phase, character symbols land to add value symbols, upgrade their values, add a 2x multiplier, add to the total win counter and collect all symbol values. All features can award the Total Recall 20,000 x bet max win too.

xNudge Wild

The Nudge Wild symbol can land on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. When it lands, it nudges down to the bottom position with the payout multiplier increasing by 1 for every ‘nudge’ downwards. If it lands on the bottom row, it will act as a regular wild symbol substituting for all paying symbols.

Super xNudge Wild

There is also a Super xNudge Wild which appears on reels 3 and 4 only. When it lands on the same row on both reels 3 and 4, it drops down to the bottom position as well as increasing the payout multiplier by 1 for every nudge downwards.

It then expands to cover the entire reel. Both wild multipliers are added together for a maximum multiplier of 8x. If the Super xNudge Wilds lands on just 1 reel, it acts as a regular wild symbol.

Carnage & Doomsday Spins

3 Free Spins Scatters will trigger the Carnage Spins feature whilst 4 activate the Doomsday Spins feature. Both come with 2 features: the Hoarding feature and the Feasting feature.

The Hoarding feature begins with 3 spins that reset to 3 every time a value symbol lands on the reels. Triggering Free Spins Scatters transform into random value symbols. Value symbols are basically bet multiplier values ranging between 1 and 40 times your total bet.

When you fill a column with 4 symbols, an extra free spin is awarded in the Feasting feature. You will play the Feasting feature if you have no free spins left or when you fill all positions.

The Feasting feature awards 5 spins in Carnage Spins or 10 spins in Doomsday Spins features. You’ll see Enhanced Rows on the top and bottom of the reel which become reveal character symbols when active. Each character symbol increases the active multiplier depending on the feature they trigger:

• Creator: Creates a new value symbol on any empty position.
• Triplet: Randomly upgrades 3 symbol values to the next level which can be at same or different positions.
• Cutter: Multiplies 1 random symbol value symbol by 2.
• Licker: Adds the highest value to the total win counter.
• Crawer: Collects all symbol values and adds up to the total win counter.

Look out for persistent versions of character symbols. These move right to the adjacent reel with each free spin, activating the character symbol again until it reaches the final reel.

Cataclysm Spins

The Cataclysm Spins feature is triggered by land 5 Free Spins Scatters during a base game spin. It is the same as the Doomsday Spins feature but only persistent character symbols appear during the Feasting feature process.

xBet

Costing 1.5 times your total bet, the optional xBet feature increases your chances of triggering the Carnage or Doomsday Spins features by 3 times. The RTP rate is 96.01% for the highest 96.03% RTP setting. Furthermore, triggering a Spins feature or achieving the max win is a lot more probable using the xBet feature:
