Vienna now 1/4 to win the award for World's Most Liveable City next year

Betting Sites have kept Vienna as the firm favourites to win the World's Most Liveable City award for the fourth year in-a-row ahead of June's announcement.

The Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) Global Liveability Index saw Vienna hit a perfect score in four of the five categories with stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure all ranked last year and it is once again expected to remain that way.

Culture and environment was the only score that Vienna was scored down for with 93.5 out of 100 given putting it 7th out of the Top 10 cities for that specific section.

Vienna though finished top ahead of Copenhagen by 0.4 making it the most liveable city for the third consecutive year latest odds give an implied probability of 80% that 2025's Top 10 will see the same outcome.

European Cities dominated the top three of the 2024 charts

2024's EIU Global Liveability Index saw European cities dominate the top of the charts with the top three cities that are in countries across Europe.

Australia, Japan, New Zealand and Canada had cities in the Top 10 this year with the ratings range across the Top 10 from 98.4 to 96 in what was a tight top 10.

Just a 2.4 overall rating separates 10th from 1st and this has been the same for the past two years with the top cities all impressing in their own ways.

We look at the top 10 from last year's Economist Intelligence Unit award
