Runner Jake Wightman is now 6/1 second favourite to win the Sports Personality of the Year award later this year
Middle-distance runner Jake Wightman has been added into the Sports Personality of the Year market at 6/1 second favourite to win the award.
Bookies have instantly added Wightman to the betting market after his 1500m World Title win in Oregon last Tuesday which was Britain's first win in the event since 1983.
Paddy Power have kept snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan as favourite in the market, with England Lioness Beth Mead third in the betting at 7/1.

Beth Mead | 7/1 | 12.5% |

Jake Wightman became the first British man to win the world 1500m title since Steve Cram in 1983 and is set to race in this summer's Commonwealth Games.
The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony is set for this Thursday and more betting markets will be available for the ceremony as the days go on.
Ronnie O'Sullivan remains favourite for the award at 11/4 with bookies
Ronnie O'Sullivan is still the 11/4 favourite to win the SPOTY award with bookmakers after his World Snooker Championship win back in May.
The Rocket won 18-13 against Judd Trump to win a modern-era equalling record 7th Championship at the big event.
This instantly made bookmakers put O'Sullivan as favourite to win an award that he has surprisingly not won before despite his popularity.
The only downside for O'Sullivan might be the length of time between him winning the World Championship in May to the actual ceremony in December.
Seven months between the two may mean that the voting public will have more of a memory of a more recent sportsperson's accomplishment.
England Lioness player Beth Mead is 7/1 third favourite to win the award with the Euros still ongoing
Beth Mead is the 7/1 third favourite to win the Sports Personality of the Year award after a fantastic Euros has seen her popularity go from strength to strength.
Mead currently leads the way in the Golden Boot standings at the Euros tournament and her performances have been incredible so far.
As England go into the semi-finals this week, Mead may well be a big factor of the Lionesses winning the tournament and this will be massive for her country.
The British public may well vote for Mead to become the Sports Personality of the Year and bookies give her a 7/1 chance of winning the award.
