Trump Surges in Peace Prize Betting After Formal Nomination

Betting markets on the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize have been shaken by news that former U.S. President Donald Trump has received a formal nomination and his odds have responded accordingly.

Trump’s price has been slashed from 6/1 to just 2/1, making him the new market leader with several betting sites.

The nomination comes from Congressman Darrell Issa, who submitted the former president's name citing his role in brokering the Abraham Accords, the 2020 agreement that normalised relations between Israel and several Arab nations.

Issa stated Trump’s “leadership brought peace to an historically tumultuous region,” while also noting his diplomacy on the Korean Peninsula and NATO policy changes.

Latest betting odds given now suggest a 33.3% chance that Trump is crowned winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

What the expert says...
Trump has always been a wild card in Nobel Peace Prize betting, but a formal nomination backed by a track record of diplomatic agreements gives him genuine traction in 2025. Whether the Nobel Committee aligns with that view is another matter, but the price shift to 2/1 suggests bookmakers and punters are now taking it seriously.
