Theo James has moved back into favourite to be the next James Bond

Betting odds continue to be given on the next James Bond with British actor Theo James now shortening back into favourite in the market with UK Betting Sites.

Henry Cavill's odds had been slashed in the past fortnight with some bookmakers putting him into favourite to be the next Bond but he has since drifted slightly in the market.

James though has moved back above Cavill in the betting with the latest market from Paddy Power putting him as short as 6/4 to play the iconic role next.

Those odds give an implied probability of 40% that we'll see Theo James as the next Bond, with a 20% chance that it'll be Cavill.

What the expert says...
Henry Cavill has always had the look and fan support for Bond, but this latest price crash suggests there’s fresh momentum behind him.

Director Alfonso Cuarón hinted towards directing the next movie

Recent reports in the past week have linked Alfonso Cuarón with the directing role for the next James Bond with Amy Pascal and David Heyman eyeing him up.

Heyman has previously been a producer on the Harry Potter movies with Cuarón directing the third film in the famous franchise, the Prisoner of Azkaban, back in 2004.

The two may well work together again for Bond with Cuarón speaking at the Paris Cinema Club last week saying, "There is indeed THIS project under discussion, and I have the desire - if it happens - to revisit this story in my own way," via Simon___Robert on X.

Louis Partridge is the latest new entry in the next Bond market

21-year-old actor Louis Partridge is a brand-new entry in the betting market to play the next Bond and could well be a big contender if the franchise goes with a younger storyline for the famous character.

Partridge has been a star in Alfonso Cuarón's mini-series Disclaimer in the past year and that link plays a big reason why he's been added to the Bond market.

The current odds have him out to 11/2 to play Bond next with a 15.4% chance given according to those odds.

That places him as third favourite in the betting market behind James and Cavill with Jack Lowden and Aaron Taylor-Johnson wrapping up the top five in the betting.
