Tom Tugendhat is the 11/4 favourite to be the Next Foreign Secretary

Tom Tugendhat is the 11/4 favourite with bookmakers to be the Next Foreign Secretary with the role up for grabs if Liz Truss is the next Conservative Leader.

Truss is expected to be the next Prime Minister according to the betting odds, with the two horse race between her and Rishi Sunak currently taking place.

Smarkets make Tugendhat favourite to take over from Truss in the role as Foreign Secretary, but it's not clear who Truss will want in her cabinet if she takes over.

Next Foreign Secretary Odds Probability
Tom Tugendhat 11/4 26.7%
Ben Wallace 4/1 20.0%
Penny Mordaunt 13/2 13.3%
Kwasi Kwarteng 13/2 13.3%

The options for Foreign Secretary seem pretty competitive and Truss's experience in the role should mean there will be a suitable candidate taking over.

Penny Mordaunt and Tom Tugendhat both ran for PM themselves but were voted out in previous rounds.

Tom Tugendhat is the 11/4 favourite to be the next Foreign Secretary, with the role set to be vacant if Liz Truss wins the Next Conservative Leader vote.

Liz Truss is 1/14 to be the next Conservative Leader

Liz Truss is now the heavy 1/14 favourite to be the next leader of the Conservative Party.

Sunak was 4/1 to win the race just last month but now finds himself behind Truss in the market at odds of 6/1.

In our same story on the 6th July, Liz Truss was 10/1 to be the next Conservative leader so she has made more of a market move than Sunak has.

Truss though is expected to comfortably win the vote with ballot papers currently being sent out.

Boris Johnson's next role specials still available

Boris Johnson resigned from his role as the leader of the Conservative Party last month and in doing so resigned as Prime Minister.

It is unclear what Johnson will do next but there will more than likely be a variety of options available for him.

Both candidates for the Conservative Leader role have said that there will be no place for Johnson in their cabinet.

Boris Johnson's Next Role Odds Probability
Ambassador to the USA 7/1 12.5%
Editor of Evening Standard 10/1 9.1%
Mayor of London 16/1 5.9%
Party Planner 500/1 0.2%

Betway go 500/1 that Johnson will be a Party Planner in his next role after his famous parties at Downing Street during lockdown.

Boris Johnson is 500/1 to be a Party Planner in his next role after his experience at throwing parties at Downing Street during lockdown.
