Gary O'Neil is the 4/1 favourite to be the next Blackburn Rovers manager

Betting odds are now given on who will be the next Blackburn Rovers manager with John Eustace set to leave the club for Derby County in the coming hours after the Rams moved for the manager to take over at Pride Park.

Rovers are sitting in 6th in the Championship table and after an important January transfer window, where they made six new signings, are looking to be promoted back to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Early odds with UK Betting Sites for the next Blackburn manager put some massive names in the running for the role with former Wolves manager Gary O'Neil the frontrunner in the market at 4/1 ahead of Steve Cooper.

The former Premier League winners are looking for the right manager that can get them promoted back to England's top flight for the first time since 2012.

BetVictor's latest market gives an implied probability of 20% that O'Neil is the next Rovers manager with former Leicester and Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper following just behind in the betting.

John Eustace set to depart Blackburn for Derby County this week

Reports over the weekend suggested that Derby County would look to hire John Eustace as their next manager after sacking Paul Warne on Friday.

Blackburn "reluctantly" gave manager Eustace permission to speak to Derby in a statement on Monday afternoon saying that they were "extremely disappointed by Eustace's request to hold discussions with another club at such a crucial stage of the season".

Eustace ended his playing career at Derby and the 45-year-old reportedly believes that his former club are a better project in the long-term than Blackburn are, with the Rovers board having issues of their own over the years.

Rovers sixth place in the Championship with Derby 22nd

Eustace's expected departure from Rovers to Derby has been a massive surprise due to the positions of both in the Championship table with the Rams in the middle of a relegation dog fight in 22nd place.

Rovers meanwhile have impressed under Eustace and sit in 6th place in the Championship and will be hoping to stay there and fight in the play-offs at the end of the season.

Blackburn are 10/3 to stay in the Top 6 this season with bookmakers expecting it to be a tough battle for them to do so with the odds putting them 9th favourites for a Top 6 finish.

Derby are 7/4 to be relegated from the Championship this season and will take a big effort under Eustace in the latter stages of the season to get them out of the relegation zone and keep them up.
