Loyle Carner is 3/1 favourite to win this year's Mercury Prize award for album 'hugo'

Betting is now available on the 2023 Mercury Prize award following nominees being announced earlier this month and UK Betting Sites already have an early favourite for the award.

Loyle Carner's latest album 'hugo' is the 3/1 favourite for the award which recognises the 12 best albums of the year before picking which is the outright best.

Little Simz was the winner of the 2022 Mercury Prize for her fourth album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and this year's winner will be hoping to follow in her footsteps.

William Hill have put Carner as the favourite for the Mercury Prize with his latest odds currently suggesting there's a 25% chance that he wins.

Fred Again second favourite for the award after a massive year for the DJ

DJ and Producer Fred Again is the second favourite with bookmakers for the Mercury Prize for his latest album Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022).

Fred has had a massive last 12 months with huge performances at Glastonbury and Coachella seeing big crowds watch the act and sellout shows all over the world too.

The DJ is nominated for the Mercury Prize for the first time in his career and the betting odds have put him as the second favourite with a 22% chance of winning.

When does the Mercury Prize award take place?

This year's Mercury Prize award show will take place on Thursday 7 September at the Eventim Apollo in London.

The show will see nominees for the award perform on the night with the odd recorded performance airing for the acts who can't attend on the night.
