MK Dons Favourites for League Two Glory as 2025/26 Season Nears

The countdown is on to the 2025/26 EFL League Two season, with Saturday 2 August marking the return of one of English football’s most competitive divisions.

At the top of the market, MK Dons are favourites to lift the title at 7/2 with bet365, having strengthened well during the summer as they look to return to League One at the third time of asking.

With just under two weeks to go, punters are diving into outright winner and relegation betting across the best football betting sites.

Three sides, Gillingham, Salford, and Bristol Rovers, are locked at 12/1, each with promotion ambitions but recent inconsistencies to address if they’re to mount a serious challenge.

UK Betting Sites will continue to offer outright odds throughout the season with plenty of changes expected in the build-up to the campaign kicking off.

What the expert says...
MK Dons have been building quietly but effectively over the summer, and their odds reflect real intent. Down at the bottom, Newport look vulnerable again unless they hit the ground running.

Relegation Battle: Newport and Harrogate in Danger

Newport County are the early favourites for the drop at 5/2, having narrowly escaped last season and done little in the transfer market to reassure fans of a turnaround.

Harrogate Town follow at 3/1, while Accrington Stanley are also in danger of relegation and sit at 4/1.

Bromley and Cheltenham round out the top five relegation contenders at 5/1 apiece, though both will hope to stabilise in League Two.
