Eurovision Night Is Here And Finland Have Everything in Their Favour

After two extraordinary semi-finals and a week of rehearsals that has had Vienna buzzing, the 70th Eurovision Song Contest reaches its climax tomorrow night at the Wiener Stadthalle.

Twenty-five nations will take the stage for the Grand Final and bet365 have a crystal-clear view of who they expect to lift the trophy.

Finland are the dominant 5/6 favourites, a price that implies a 54.5% probability of victory and reflects a week of rehearsal reports so emphatic that many observers have already stopped asking whether Liekinheitin will win and started asking by how much.

The running order draw has delivered one final piece of good news for the Finnish camp.

Position 17 in a 25-song final is widely regarded by Eurovision analysts as one of the most advantageous slots in the entire contest, as it is late enough to benefit from peak viewer engagement and strong recency bias in the televote, but not so late that fatigue sets in.

Finland's Road to the Final And Why Position 17 Could Be Decisive

Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen's journey to the Grand Final has been one of the defining stories of Eurovision 2026.

Their UMK victory with 55.80% of the Finnish televote smashed the previous national selection record, and their Semi-Final 1 performance, described by delegates and journalists in Vienna as one of the standout moments of the entire week of rehearsals, confirmed that what works on YouTube and in UMK translates even more powerfully on the Wiener Stadthalle stage.

Lampenius, a 56-year-old violin virtuoso, brings the kind of technical mastery and stage presence that transforms a good Eurovision staging into something genuinely unforgettable.

Parkkonen brings the pop accessibility and emotional directness that ensures the song functions as both a spectacle and an earworm.

Australia, Romania and the Stories That Could Derail Finland

Delta Goodrem's Australia at 9/2 is the only realistic challenger in the market, and her position eighth in the running order is both an advantage and a challenge.

Performing early enough to set the tone for the evening, Goodrem's "Eclipse" has been one of the most warmly received entries in the Grand Final rehearsal period, with the Australian's extraordinary vocal range and emotional presence generating the kind of response from the press centre that typically precedes a strong result.

At 18.2% implied probability, the market is not dismissing her. It is simply saying that Finland, performing nine positions later, holds the structural advantage.

Romania's position at 12/1 is perhaps the most intriguing in the entire set of odds. Alexandra Căpitănescu performs "Choke Me" in position 24, the second-to-last slot in the entire final, immediately before the host nation Austria closes proceedings.

In Eurovision, that position benefits from the strongest possible recency bias in the public televote, and Romania's bold entry has been one of the most talked-about of the entire week.
