Latest specials say that YouTuber GothamKing has a 33% chance of becoming a Chess Grandmaster
Chess is seemingly growing in popularity more and more month-by-month and the boom of the game has seen big content creators such as GothamChess go massive playing Chess.
GothamChess is currently 30 episodes into his Road to Grandmaster series where he goes behind-the-scenes on his training and games as he tries to make it as a Grandmaster in Chess.
The YouTuber is set to livestream his latest chess tournament this week with the Spilimbergo Open 2024 taking place in Italy from August 9 to August 15.
GothamChess click-baited a GM announcement in his last YouTube video released on August 7 with the title 'GM LEVY ANNOUNCEMENT' making viewers think that the long-awaited Grandmaster title had happened.
This wasn't the case though with his latest episode confirming he would be competing in that Spilimbergo tournament but OLBG's latest odds say there's a 33% chance that he finally becomes Grandmaster next year.
The betting odds, currently at 2/1, say that GothamKing has a big chance of officially becoming a Chess Grandmaster before 2025 wraps up, although it's still odds on that he doesn't.
Will GothamChess become a Grandmaster before end of 2025? | Odds* | Probability |

No | 1/4 | 80.0% |

28-year-old Levy Rozman began his various content channels back in 2018 and the rise of Chess has seen his popularity go boom ever since.
COVID-19 really saw Chess grow culturally, helped by the release of Netflix show The Queen's Gambit too, and Rozman's GothamChess channel has more than 2.6 billion views on YouTube.
Rozman announced that his current elo sits at 2370 after gaining 48 points in his first two tournaments back in Chess and an Elo rating of at least 2500 is needed to become a GM.
