The countdown to the 2025 Booker Prize is well and truly on and Andrew Miller has surged into favourite status with just days to go until the winner is revealed.

Bookmakers have shortened Miller's odds to 2/1 for his novel The Land in Winter, making him the most likely to scoop the £50,000 literary prize at the upcoming ceremony in London on Monday, 10 November.

What the expert says...
Andrew Miller is the clear favourite heading into the final weeks, and the early move to 2/1 suggests the betting market is reacting to strong support from critics and insiders. However, don’t discount Kiran Desai as previous winners returning with new work often catch the eye of the judges. It’s shaping up to be a close finish.
