Mostly seen at the minimum distance, he is worth another try at 6 furlongs and looks a good each-way bet with four places on offer.

Wilko is one of those horse that ill always have on the back burner and shows up at a nice price. Ive tipped him a few times and hes been frustrating not having won sonce 2024 but he does run his race at Newcastle. He returned from a 4 month break to run a cracker of a race over C&D narrowly missing out by 1.75l in a close finish, this was a class 2, he also ran well lto with 3l in it to the winner. He gets an ease in grade tomorrow and hes 4lb below his last winning mark and I like the booking of Kevin stott who goes well here. Its all set up for him tomorrow on paper and he needs to get his head in front now.

Rousing Encore looks the type who could well return to action better for the break. Had a good season last year, winning handicaps at Ayr and York (6f), both off marks of 82. Only one win from eight on the AW but ran well in his previous sole attempt over course and distance. Bit of an in-and-out sort, but a lot of ability on his day. Formerly rated considerably higher. Third of 22 off 1 lb lower when last seen at Doncaster in November. Ruth Carr (not in great form, but she never goes a long time without a winner) trains.

At odds of 16/1 each-way, this 5-year-old shows great potential following a respectable fifth place last month after a break. He secured victory in a tough race at this rating last year, so unless he makes a significant mistake, he looks a reliable wager.

Not the most consistent 8-year-old. Three career wins and runner-up five times. Capable on his day. Interesting that he is now making his AW debut. He was beaten 2L in Meydan two runs back and is not a write-off yet. Last August he was a good 5th of 27 in the high-quality £129K Stewards' Cup handicap. With the jockey's claim in this handicap, he is effectively a huge 20 lb better off from that run. He could be a big player in this Class 3 handicap if he takes to the surface.
