This ex-French-trained 4-y-o gelding won over two miles one furlong on soft ground in a hurdle race at Auteuil before joining the Dan Skelton stable. He finished second behind the Harry Derham-trained One Horse Town in a Group 2 race over two miles on heavy ground at Cheltenham 56 days ago. Back in calmer waters today, he looks hard to oppose under Harry Skelton.

Wertpol won his first hurdle race well despite running green. He should improve from that run and go close here, getting weight from the favourite.

I find it interesting that Jamie Snowden sets quite a high standard for his newcomer, Senator. He finished 3rd in his two starts to date (both in France). On that form, it looks as though the step up to 16f should suit. Bigger odds already taken, and he looks a nice each-way price.
