As the defending champion of the King George Qatar Stakes, he relishes Goodwood's distinctive downhill course and returns in top condition after an impressive close third at York. A reliable each-way option at 11/1.

A high draw wouldn't typically be a positive here but Spicy Marg may actually be well drawn with Night Raider nearby and other fancied horses such as last years winner JM Jungle. She should be able to tuck in behind the fav and has shown in three of her four starts this term that she retains every bit of her ability as a 3yo. Twice finished behind Commonwealth and July Cup winner Venetian Sun and although poor last time she's been below par on both her visits to York so I'm happy to strike a line through it. Won well on her only previous visit to Goodwood and I don't see the step back to 5f causing her any issues as she looks a real speed horse. Her OR of 111 makes her top rated in receipt of the mares and age allowances and she will appreciate the quick ground on offer.

On fast going Asfoora is likely to fare much better than last year when behind Jm Jungle and more like 2024 when losing by a shorthead to Big Evs could win this time to top off her career.
