Hidden Gift isn't the pick of the Wathnan pair by retained jockey James Doyle, which might make me look silly in selecting the Fahey-trained runner. However, Hidden Gift is quite a smart two-year-old who has been given about six weeks since his encouraging Ascot run. That was only his second race and was a big step up from his promising Ripon debut. The trainer has enjoyed a fair bit of success over the years at the major meetings, so I am hopeful of a big run.

Missed the break at Ascot and finished 2 lengths behind Wild Blossom. If breaking on terms, can go and win this.

Saffie Osborne retains the ride today, and the sharp 5-furlong test on Goodwood's fast turf suits her high-cruising, stalking profile down to the ground. Up against another competitive field, her proven big-field handicap toughness makes her a very dangerous player at around 10/1.
