Blue In The West is still a maiden and was left with too much to do last time when 2nd of 17 in a similar-distance handicap hurdle at Exeter nine days ago. He is due to go up two pounds, and Sean Bowen takes over the ride this time.

No Rematch, lightly raced 12yo, came back from a 204-day break last time over CD and ran well behind three horses who all went out and won next time. He was beaten 17l into 4th but was eased down towards the end and could have been closer. Certain to strip fitter for the run, and his 2nd at Perth in May last year shows he gets quicker ground. He has changed ownership and yards twice a year since 2022, yet has still been kept by a close-knit group and is now back at the stable he began with. He is usually ridden by Imogen Mathis, who is on board today and claims 7 lb. She will be very keen to win on him, and 33/1 and 40/1 available tonight offer some good EW value with 4 places paid. Jacks Jury, who won for us last time, could prove the danger.

Even at 50/1, she looks to me a strong contender each way. A C&D winner, with the going in her favour, she is effective in this class, and the drop in trip is close to her optimum.
