Going for a Dutch. He certainly wasn't devoid of promise in his qualifying runs and not one I would want to price so big given his trainer's strike-rate. Guessing somewhat with his fitness, but I'm sure I will back worse 20/1 shots.

This eight-year-old travelled like a horse that could be a fair bit beyond his mark, but it seems that his wind was catching him out. Naturally, having received a wind procedure since we last saw him in April, you have to be interested. He's reunited with the jock who was on board when scoring here in February, and with Lavelle's seasonal debutants in rude health, I have to give him a go.

There were definitely signs of promise on his sixth-placed chase bow at Worcester, although it was fair to say he was pretty novicey. I was more taken by the way he travelled into the race in first-time cheekpieces, and there's every chance he will come on for that first run after 155 days off. This contest is certainly weaker, and I'm sure the seven-year-old will go close, providing his jumping improves.

Landed a gamble in this race last year off 1 lb higher. Trainer Matt Sheppard sponsored it, 'Slow Two Miler', and went on to complete a hat-trick. Taken a similar path this season, although started a month earlier and fitted in an additional chase run at Worcester. The nine-year-old is now 10 lb below his last winning mark, and 38 days is a nice amount of time to put him spot-on.
